Best WLM Reviews
We were preparing to leave Miami and head back to Tampa, but before starting our journey, we wanted to enjoy a good lunch. After searching for nearby restaurants and reading some reviews, we decided to dine at Akash Miami Beach, which appeared to be a promising choice.
We were fortunate to find parking right in front of the restaurant, making it convenient for us to head in. Upon entering, we noticed the restaurant was nearly empty, and we were promptly seated at our table.
Since we had an infant with us, we ordered Dal Tadka with Rice specifically for him, along with a Mango Lassi to accompany the meal. For the rest of us, we ordered a variety of dishes, including Chicken Lollipop, Chicken Malai Kebab, Kadhai Chicken, Akash Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan, and additional Mango Lassi.
The service was quick, and we first received the Dal Tadka with Rice and the Mango Lassi. The Dal Tadka was flavorful and comforting, resembling home-cooked dal, which made it perfect for our infant. He enjoyed it thoroughly. The Mango Lassi was refreshing--not overly sweet, which suited our taste preferences perfectly.
Next, we received the appetizers, which included Chicken Malai Kebab and Chicken Lollipop. The Chicken Malai Kebab was a highlight--tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a rich and creamy taste that we thoroughly enjoyed. However, the Chicken Lollipop fell short of expectations. It was overly colored, leaving red stains on our hands, and the flavor did not make up for its appearance.
Finally, the main course arrived, which included Kadhai Chicken, Akash Chicken Curry, and Garlic Naan. Unfortunately, both chicken curries were disappointing. The dishes were overly colorful, and the flavors seemed off. It was evident that the tadka (seasoning) made with onions and tomatoes had not been properly cooked, and the use of tomato sauce as a shortcut was apparent and concerning. The lack of authentic taste and preparation was a letdown.
While the Dal Tadka and Chicken Malai Kebab stood out as enjoyable, the rest of the meal did not meet our expectations. The excessive use of coloring and underwhelming flavors in the curries overshadowed the dining experience.
Akash restaurant has one of the best chicken tikkas I’ve tried so far across Canada and the US. It was just perfect. Perfectly spiced, charred and juicy. We also had the dal makhani which was just as good as the chicken tikka. It was creamy and you could taste the fine flavours only brought out after hours of cooking.
The service was really really good as the server kept coming to the guests to ask if they were doing alright. Even the owner was walking all around the restaurant and also serving the guests which just shows his passion.
The interiors of the restaurant could be a bit better in my opinion, but it’s definitely a must visit restaurant purely based on the food, which they rightly focus on.
Apologies for the photos since the food was piping hot and I couldn’t wait to hog onto it.
Amazing Indian food!! The food is packed with flavor. Extremely fast service and the owner is extremely kind. He takes care of his customers 10/10, I will be back!
We did a 25+ member impromptu group dinner at Akash Miami Beach and I must say that I was impressed with the preparedness of the restaurant to host such big crowd with such a short notice.
The group had only a hand full of people of India origin and everybody appreciated the food very much. They had great vegetarian options too. The staff was very courteous despite the chaos that comes with a big group and well accommodated new incoming guests too.
I felt the drinks were more pricier compared to options near by, but I guess that is expected in Miami Beach. The taste and quality of food met expectations. There’s definitely room to improve.
Overall a great experience at Akash Miami.
Our server was very kind. We were served with Papad first which was complimentary. We ordered the paneer tandoor starter and chicken lollipop, both were upto my Indian standards. Being a foodie, i can say that I haven’t been to a better Indian restaurant than this one in US. We ordered Akash gravy which was really good along with their garlic butter naan. We also ordered the kesar pista kulfi which was the best! DEFINITELY MUST TRY!
Lovely restaurant and food was amazing. Hats off to the owner that came around to make himself known to every group, such a great guy! Coming from the UK, it was a delight to have authentic Indian food in Miami and I would come here again!
Nice spot for Indian food. Open white space clean but not the most appealing interior. All dishes were made well. Garlic naan and butter chicken were very tasty. Aloo Gobi was not well sliced. Samosas classic pea and potatoes. Good for large groups.
We loved everything about Akash Miami Beach restaurant. The food was excellent. They also helped us in our son’s last minute birthday celebration as we had just arrived in Miami! Thank you, team Akash!
