Best WLM Reviews
Akane is the type of resturant that I like to go after a long day of work or just having a meal with friends and family. It's super comfortable and not extra fancy. We always go there at least once a month and always have an amazing experience. Other than ramen they have some of the best rice bowls and karaage.
Highly recommend this place.
I have mixed feelings about the experience. I usually prefer to avoid restaurants with FSR OKAY, but my craving for ramen led me here. It's worth considering if you're absolutely starving, but I wouldn't recommend making it your first choice. The food was okay, but overall, it left much to be desired.
Went to satisfy my ramen craving. Both vegetable ramen and vegetable noodles are good vegetarian options. Ramen was piping hot and flavorful. Service is pretty quick. Tables were available on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I will visit again.
There was a lot of choices and I wish they had more pictures because a lot of the items had a lot of stuff that I have never heard of. They do explain the items at the top of the list but I think pictures would be helpful. I had the spicy garlic miso 4 stars and it was great! The noodles were not over cooked and the meat was very tender. I have never gone to a place for ramen and it was a nice way to eat it. I also got the fried wontons/gyoza which were crispy and the sauce for dipping was good.
Food is okay, not very complex flavor for the broth and a bit pricey. The service was not great, we were mostly ignored, no water fill up or attentiveness. The bathrooms were quite filthy with tiles falling off the walls.
I so badly want to rate this place a 5/5 stars, the food was okay.
I've had a lot of ramen, and this one was just... okay.
The broth had a lovely smoky flavor to it, but no garlic as far as I could taste.
The noodles tasted like the frozen version of the .59¢ ramen you would get in any store.
I was very glad that I didn't end my meal on the egg in the ramen, because it made me gag and while swallowing I could feel a forgotten eggshell piece.
The meat was very chewy, and practically fell apart in my mouth. But...
It felt like it was mostly fat.
And to top it off the water they served was room temperature, I could tell because from where I was sitting I could see both containers sitting on the checkout desk and I watched them pour my glass.
So that made me feel things.
The restaurant looks like it is massively due for an upgrade, or just a deep cleaning.
I wish this place was something like a hidden gem or something.
But it's not.
The food is okay, but the service..first forgot to give us menu, then the 2 ramen bowls we order has very different amount of ramen. My husband's bowl has very little and he has to order extra. Worst part is they charge 20% large group tip for us. 2 adults 2 kids and a baby. I think usually 6 people is considered large group..and they just handle us the machine for extra tip. If I didn't check the receipt I wouldn't know.. Will avoid this place.
This is a smaller and cozy restaurant with absolutely fantastic food! We ordered a number five and three ramen. The ramen was made to our liking and was delicious and authentic. For an appetizer we ordered tokoyaki which was a deep fried dough ball with octopus inside and teriyaki and a mayo on the outside served like a sushi dish topped with green onion which was delicious as well. Everything was served hot and fresh, the server was really informative and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Japanese ramen!
