Best WLM Reviews

UPDATE: Akamas Restaurant has changed its name to Zorba - The Greek Taverna back on May 13, 2024. The old Akamas is no more and has been totally updated. It looks fantastic. Nothing old and dreary, here. It now has a relaxing, nautical theme, new decor and nice tables with linen napkins. They kept some of the booths, too. Most everything is brand new inside the restaurant. The food was very good and so was the service. Prices were higher, but the food was more plentiful and they are authentic Greek dishes. Also, notice for breakfast goers... no more breakfasts will be served. Lunch and dinner ONLY.
I was pleasantly surprised with the changes and will dine at Zorba's again.
Surprisingly good food! That's not to say that I wasn't expecting good food, but it exceeded my expectations. I thought the cream of broccoli soup was a great temperature (hot, but not burn your tongue hot) and a good mix, the jumbo gyro was very thick with a great mix of onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce, along with tasty and generous lamb. The sherbet ice cream was terrific, and the price for this generous meal was surprisingly low.
A great visit to a place that clearly seems to put taste first.
New visit a year+ later:
The soup was again just right by temperature, not burn your tongue hit, but hot.
Ribs were excellent!
Several Visits Later
Many good dishes, dinners are good and come with desert, rice pudding is great!
Best hasbrowns for miles(See how many reviews I've done.. better than all those places)
Good food, good service, and they leave a small pot of coffee at your table! Day Jump Started! Definitely going to continue to go here!
Just had an omelette with mushrooms and they are fresh! Love this place!
We're in town visiting and ate at Akamas at the suggestion of our family -- as they frequent this restaurant. Noting: our family members are older and very particular eaters who usually complain about meals at other restaurants (so we knew the food must be good!). We ordered the Sunday specials: swiss steak for me and my husband ordered the fish with mac & cheese. Our family ordered a favored chicken gyro. The portions were huge and the food was absolutely perfect! Our meals came with dessert choice of ice cream, rice pudding, or jello. We opted for rice pudding and it was delicious! The coffee was perfect and the staff friendly. The restaurant is clean with a quiet atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again. The restaurant has a small bar which offers wine & liquor. We don't drink so I can't speak to the wine choices but for those who do like to have a glass of wine with dinner I thought I'd note that it is offered.
There are a lot of food options to choose from. It was my first time in with my family. Prices were about average nowadays. Service wasn't the greatest. I've never seen a waiter sit and play on their phone in my life except at this restaurant. So it was hard to get their attention because they were on their phones, but overall, all the family, including kids, ate all of their food. Would definitely go back just for the food for sure. Just would hope for a different waiter, lol
We were here on New Year’s day with our granddaughters. We had a wide variety of dishes from homemade soup, fettuccine, tuna melt with fries and a gyro dinner. All hot, cooked perfectly. This isn’t our first time here but every meal we’ve had here is like this. A great food experience.
Really great service! Reasonable prices Good food some portions seemed small!
Read the reviews and decided to try it. Was not disappointed. All the meals we had were excellent. The portions gave us enough food for a whole meal, to be taken home, except my son's but he's a teenager. We were not super impressed with the desserts; rice pudding was good, but not great, and my daughter's ice cream tasted like a cheap brand. (I eat store brands and actually like them, but not this one.)
