Can’t believe I’ve never done a review for one of my favorite local sushi spots. Y’all, they’ve got it all! Super friendly service, the food is top notch, and the presentation was amazing!
Akaihi Sushi and Hibachi is really a shining star amongst sushi restaurants in Houston. They have a very impressive menu full of sushi rolls that are actually loaded with FISH and not cheap fillers (cucumber, shrimp tempura) that other Houston sushi joints will try and sell you. The rolls are reasonably priced for how big they are. They definitely don’t skimp you on the fish portions in the rolls, either. LOVE this place!!!
Akaihi Japanese Grill & Sushi is where your sushi dreams and your appetite come to party. The all-you-can-eat menu is a daring challenge, but every bite is so good you’ll gladly take it on. The sushi? Fresh, flavorful, and almost too pretty to eat—almost. The grill? A smoky, savory delight that keeps you coming back for more. And with service that’s quick enough to keep up with your cravings but relaxed enough to make you feel at home, it’s hard not to love this place. My glass was literally never empty. Fair warning: come hungry, leave happier! And that Oreo tempura was absolutely amazing!
Used to be our favorite place. Used to be so good. Had spoiled soup a few weeks ago and then today tried the General tos chicken and the sauce was watered down. Tasted soggy and had no flavor. Very disappointing. Not sure if they are trying to save money but this is not it. This is how you start to lose customers.
We're local and first time tried this restaurant and have already fallen in love with the delicious dishes, desserts, and cocktails. Staffs are so friendly. The server made a training chopsticks for my son; how thoughtful she was! A cozy atmosphere! Bravo for everything here. A great local find! Highly recommended!
Stopped in for a date night with my wife and enjoyed a nice dinner. We chose to sit in the regular dining area and not have the hibachi show.
We ordered the crab puff - absolutely delicious! Definitely will get that again. It was crunchy with a great crab cream cheese center.
My wife had the hibachi chicken with friend rice and I had the hibachi shrimp with fried rice. All of it was great and the portions were generous!
Prices were fair, and we even stopped during happy hour 3-7, some prices were discounted a little bit. Service was prompt and friendly
Hubby and I wanted to try a new hibachi restaurant and saw this one on Google. As we walked to the hibachi side of the restaurant, the delicious aroma of grilled meats and veggies filled the air. I got the chicken and calamari while hubby got the filet mignon. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to the right temperature. ???? I enjoyed my calamari which was also tender.
We also got the roll combo from the lunch menu. You get 1 spicy salmon, 1 shrimp tempura hand roll and a spider roll for $13. The hand rolls and spider roll was packed with protein... well worth it.
Our server was Mylene. She was attentive and very nice. Service was top notch. Definitely recommend hibachi and sushi at Akaihi.
My family and I are so happy to have discovered this spot! The food was great, service was a lot of fun, and the staff went out of their way to make our daughter have a memorable 8th birthday. Excited to return!
