Best WLM Reviews

Honestly I love this place and my entire family has been going to this restaurant for the past 10 years. It's definitely a hidden gem and very mom and pop style. The owner has been making just the best and above all affordable happy hours which is so incredibly hard to find. It's so sad to hear all these negative reviews on the servers, the food is amazing. Above all their quality in sushi stays consistent. I have been going here consistently the past 10 years and have never ran into issues. We love sitting at the sushi bar and requesting directly from the chef. The food is amazing and the Takoyaki is exactly similar to the food I've tasted in Japan.
As someone that has traveled to Japan many times, this place serve many traditional dishes not only sushi! I love the variety and honestly how authentic it is. This is definitely not a gentrified restaurant and your chef is quite literally japanese making your meals. If you're local in town and looking to support asian business owners stop by for happy hour!!
Good atmosphere, the service was great and pretty quick, depending on what you get the food can vary. Some dishes r very good. I would recommend the takoyaki. The portion is a bit tiny, but not too bad.
This is a nice Japanese restaurant. Wait staff was very courteous and and attentive and my wife and I felt very welcome here. I ordered my Ramen bowl and my wife got a combination platter. Really good ramen and the prices are reasonable. Now, when I want ramen it will be hard to decide between Chef Ben's and Akai Hana! I guess that's a good problem to have.????????????
I was over in the area and was craving sushi/a quick bite. Found this place and walked in about 2:30 on a weekday and it wasn’t busy as all. We were quickly seated and before I could sit down the waitress was already over asking for drink orders. We ordered 2 rolls and they came out pretty quickly. I would say like a 3.7 out of 5. Not the worst sushi I ever had but not the best either. They looked like they had a really good happy hour which is worth a try to fill up on a budget. For the money, there’s better places out there.
This was a pleasant surprise. The menu is eclectic, so you can't possibly get bored. Akai Hana (Goodyear) came highly recommended. When I raved about the frogs legs, squid salad, and super mussels, frequent visitors were unaware of the menu items. I was compelled to get takeaway. The ceviche and spicy squid salad were amazing! I'm excited to return.
Cute little place. Met a real estate client here for good food and a little business. Will go again. FYI , the California rolls are a little on the sweet side, asparagus rolls and the spicy tuna rolls are awesome, the Kodiak rolls have are heartier than most. Enjoy!
I haven't personally dine in at this restaurant yet but I've ordered take out gosh.. maybe a dozen times and it's about time I write a review about how much I enjoy their food. I've tried a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi etc. But their Akai Hana Mr. Dinner box is by far my favorite! It's enough food for two people easily (leftovers for yourself ????) and you get to try a variety of items which is what I enjoy the most. I mean look at all the food they send you!! For this box I went with all salmon since it's my fav but you can choose from other fish when ordering too. I would definitely recommend them for your sushi cravings!! ????
I've been wanting to try this place out since we moved out west last year. The menu selection looked promising and the overall good reviews. Convinced my husband to go with me on his only day off (working extra due to staff shortage, you know...)
First impression: We walked in and the place smelled like old grease and stale. (We should have just walked out at this point after smelling that)
The short heavy set lady sat us (I'm assuming she's the one everybody is talking about being rude)
Menu: There were so many papers! It took me a while to figure out what's what, but I managed. I didn't even try to navigate the maki menu......
Ordering: It wasn't too much of a problem to get our waitress' attention since we were by the door and she had to pass us to go to other tables from the kitchen. I do understand why people would take her as rude. She just has that "tone" in her voice. It took me few minutes to figure out that she's not really being rude, that's just how she talks. She took our order without any problem and got all of what we ordered. Moving on...
Food: HOW IS EVERYTHING SO SALTY BUT FLAVORLESS????? I couldn't eat most of what we ordered because it was just too salty for me. And it sucked because I couldn't drink their (tap) water. We didn't order any sushi/raw fish after smelling the restaurant.
Overall: We weren't impressed by their food at all. It really is disappointing since I had so much high hope for authentic Japanese food, as I grew up in Japan... but we won't be going back.
