Best WLM Reviews
Small but has a good amount of seating. We went for lunch and was quickly seated. Our server was very attentive to us and since this was our first visit he explained some of the menu items and gave us recommendations.
We had a ginger salad, soup, poke, and 2 different rolls. The salad was not cut to an appropriate size and was a struggle to eat. That's my only criticism. The sushi was delicious and tasted like fresh ingredients. The restaurant was clean and tables were cleaned almost immediately when guests left. The prices I describe as fair, and lunch specials are offered.
I would recommend going here if you're craving sushi ????
The server was great and attentive. Consistently checked on us and our food came out timely but not too fast. We started with the Gyoza and Seaweed Salad. Both were good, although the Gyoza were on the smaller side from what I’m used to at Aka. For the rolls we got Volcano 2, Crunch Vegas, and a Spicy California. All were excellent and I actually left satisfied. Rarely do I feel satisfied after leaving sushi, usually eat another meal haha. Could use some music in the dining room, was awfully quiet. Overall a 4/5 experience, best sushi around in Jackson.
While visiting in Jackson my friend and I had lunch at AKA. The service was great & the food was phenomenal! I am not a sushi eater but I have found that there is something for everyone here! I enjoyed a starter of miso soup & a Crunch Munch II specialty roll (pictured.) My friend enjoyed an avocado tuna roll, California spring roll and an octopus roll. The restaurant was clean, quiet and aesthetically pleasing. So whether you're a sushi eater or not, I highly recommend visiting AKA in Jackson Michigan!
Unable to make birthday reservations so we ended up waiting about 20 mins for a table for 5 on a Friday night. The food was excellent, the service was kind and attentive, and everything was very clean. No kids Menu, but they did provide training chopsticks. There was no singing or birthday treats offered, but our waitress allowed us to bring in our own cake and provided additional tableware for it, so that was awesome.
Nice atmosphere with an extensive sushi menu. Our service was pleasant and engaging. We tried a couple of bento boxes and they were decent with plenty of food. The chicken and rice and brill's shalom were both good. The miso soup was cool and the ginger salad a little watery. Looked like they had dune fancy drinks and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. I'd stop again to try other items.
Your front desk greeters/order takers all 3 was absolutely amazing at helping me with my food craving. All I did was have to explain what I wanted and they knew exactly what I was talking about the California spicy sushi roll and the dumplings had my heart so happy they both was absolutely amazing ????????????????
I love the food there, I get the same thing everytime, and it’s still just as amazing as the first time. The people are very well mannered and polite. Atmosphere remains good as well :)
Fusion Japanese but kept some traditional favorite. Decent curry, light tempura batter, but everything else is a little light on the taste side. Volume is acceptable. Service can be hit and miss. I have had good knowledgeable servers and one who doesn't know anything. Overall good find especially for the area. Close to high way. Price is reasonable. Small bar, sometimes it becomes the local hang out with people who like to eat sushi with knifes and forks, enough said.
