Best WLM Reviews

Haven’t been here in 30 plus years. So many iconic AZ places have disappeared and I’ve driven past a few times recently so on the last drive by, my sister and I decided to stop. Excellent decision. The food, service, and atmosphere were as good as I remembered and we had a great meal! Perfect time of year for patio seating and the patio service was wonderful. Sometimes it’s a trade off of good service for outdoor seating but definitely not the case at Ajo Al’s. Highly recommend if you are new to the Valley, just visiting, or a native looking for a hidden gem.
If you’re looking for an authentic and delicious Mexican dining experience, Ajo Als is the place to go! It’s my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant, and I never stray from my go-to dishes. The pollo con queso is always a hit—tender chicken smothered in creamy, flavorful cheese sauce. And of course, the queso dip is a must-have, perfectly cheesy and just the right amount of spice.
To top it all off, the frozen strawberry margarita is beyond amazing. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing, and it pairs perfectly with any dish on the menu. Whether you’re here for a casual meal or celebrating with friends, Ajo Als never disappoints. Highly recommend it to anyone craving top-notch Mexican food!
Food was great, plenty of fresh chips and salsa, good portions, hot to the table. Service was a tad slow for the few customers that were dining
Good food and good atmosphere. I had the carne asada burro bowl. The carne asada was good but it had guac in the burrito. I'm not a huge guac fan and this guacamole just wasn't great either. Notwithstanding, I'd still order again (hold the guac).
Our table had a fried ice cream to celebrate a birthday. It was great but the fruit tasted like it came out of a can.
We went on a busy night but didn't have to wait longer than 15 minutes. They get you in and out quickly. The server was very helpful and pleasant.
Love Ajo Al's, best Mexican food around. They also have wonderful thin chips. Margaritas, beers all good. I've had their nachos & the burrito bowl. We also gotten their Mexican Pizza with chicken it was delicious. I don't think we've ever gotten anything we did not like.
8/16/2024 Here again with friends for lunch. Love the atmosphere, food & service. I had the taco salad, it was delicious. In the ladies room, they have the coolest faucet device. It dispenses soap, automatically turns on water & has an automatic air dryer.
Good food friendly waiters. I keep returning cuz I like the rewards program as well. They do need a handicap entrance however. My husband isn't going to wheelchair and it's hard to get him in and out of the restaurant.
I have been coming here for thirty plus years. The food and service are always outstanding however, this is the third time I’ve seen a dog in a stroller allowed in the bar where they plate up the chips and salsa. I service dog would not be in a stroller. This is clearly a pet or emotional support animal. Last time I checked with the board of health, they are not recognized by the ADA. Also one of the waitresses was interacting with the dog and handling the chips and salsa. I don’t allow my dogs to sit at my table nor do I care to have them in a restaurant by my food. I wish the staff would have addressed the situation as other patrons were clearly annoyed as well. Entitlement is not a disability.
Average. The cups were warm and salsa was good. The food was average and nothing special. The enchilada sauce was burnt and too acidic. The vegetables were a nice side. The taco was ok. The drink prices were ok and we were not there during happy hour. They remodeled the bar but took space away. We went because a large group and they always have tables to accomidate. They had patio seating. The parking is somewhat difficult.
