The garlic white tuna and the pink lady were the star of the show today! The white tuna had a crust that was flavorful and packed a kick at the end. The pink lady specialty roll was a different experience in black rice, tuna, and avocado. I wish we had tried more specialty rolls because the Godzilla and Volcano really caught my eye. We ended up with the bento lunches with shrimp tempura and 3 regular rolls as a bigger bang for our buck. Those were pretty standard and maintained the expected quality. I can't wait to go back for the scallop app and more specialty rolls. Parking was absolutely atrocious but it seemed par for the course in this area.
Mix feelings about this place, I must admit is the restaurant I have visited the most in Tampa in a whooping 16 times in 2 months.
Food is always fresh, well presented and the kitchen moves fast!
Although my latest experiences lacked service, professionalism and cleanliness.
Servers out of control, messing up the orders, bringing things out of order meaning appetizers at the end!
We need it refills and never got them. Our plates accumulated and when we asked the server to removed them she stated she wasn’t being paid to do that…
Terrible last experience will potentially prevent me from visiting in a long time, that if I even return!
Pictures from the last 3 visits. Consistency in food was great and last 3 pictures will show how the was being left and I will conserve the rest as I find them distasteful.
The best part of this place is the presentation of
the food followed by the taste. Very awesome spot to get some sushi. The rice was perfect( meaning not too much in a roll) and the sashimi was fresh and tasty. Prices are good and the area is beautiful to hang out in. Recommended all around
Good quality sushi rolls and sashimi. Server was very pleasant. Decently strong attention to detail. Atmosphere, especially the outside patio, was nice. Overall above average.
The restaurant has a very trendy and cool atmosphere. Nice place to stop by for lunch and chat with friends.
We ordered a Love Boat for 2. The variety of fish was nice, and the presentation was beautiful. The temperature of the fish could have been cooler. I think they may have put it on top of warm rice too soon. I also liked how we could get a side of salad with it. The ginger dressing was good.
There were a few pieces of rice on our table when we sat down, so it wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. But the restaurant in general looked clean, so it was probably just an oversight.
The outdoor seating is so nice here that if we had not just spent 2 hrs outside with the heat index at 103° we would have sat outside. But the indoors is lovely too. Although we came at a weird time of day for late lunch our waitress was very attentive and she could tell we were acquainting ourselves with the menu and was nearby to provide help or take our order. Let me just say, the menu is one of the most attractive menus I've seen, and we just dropped our favorite sushi place since they cannot adapt the menu for gluten free and then they took our signature drinks off the menu, but now we have this place! We started with the Dynamite Rock & Roll, it looked incredible, and the mini pizzas. . It was after this my waitress found out I was gluten free and let me know what I couldn't have known from the menu. I did eat the mini pizzas without the crisp and it was packed with flavor. After that my waitress let me know that most sushi rolls they could make gluten free and I ordered the Ajisai roll. . So delicious and the Raleigh roll & again amazing flavors. We have our new sushi place!!!
Best sushi place I’ve eaten at in a long time. Even my wife loved the sushi, and she’s much more discriminating than me (she refuses to eat any sushi that’s more than a couple hours away from a major body of water). The presentation of the speciality rolls was worth the price too. You can see the Tomo and Angry Dragon rolls served on a dish with a bowl filled with ice and lit with blue lights. The Fireworks roll is brought out and set on fire before served. Will be back.
The renovations are beautiful, including the cozy baby changing station in the bathroom. Awesome. They were great with us bringing in two toddlers and helped make it a fun experience. Seamus was our server. He was great with the kids, wouldn't let Dad clean the mess after, and was so helpful in ordering around a gluten sensitivity. The food was fantastic. Try the lychee martini.
