Best WLM Reviews
Five of us went to AJ's traditional Thanksgiving feast. We had not eaten there before, so I hoped it would be good. It was actually world-class. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, so so we asked an employee to take our family picture by the tree. The restaurant was elegant. The server was very attentive but not in a way that was bothersome. When my 91-year-old mother thought the soup was too salty, they brought her a different one and she ate every last drop. Her prime rib dinner ended up going home with us. My prime rib could be cut with the side of my fork. My granddaughter and son both had the turkey, and agreed that it was excellent. My mom ate about a third of her chocolate cake, I ate about half of my pumpkin cheesecake, and she made the server grin when she asked her to put both of them in a box so she could have them for breakfast. We will definitely go back, and not just for special events. When I booked the meal, I thought it was a little pricey. It wasn't; it was worth every single penny.
The filet was sooo good! The butter balls and bread are awesome. Service was great! S/O to our server Ashton. Very helpful, polite and professional. I also greatly enjoyed my strawberry basil cocktail. Next time I'm going for the prime rib! Definitely will be back, just give me some time to save up some $ first! It's a steakhouse, so it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Which is excellent service, clean and inviting restaurant, and spectacular food!
The perfect Manhattan was indeed perfect. The stuffed mushrooms were good, perhaps a little heavy with the cheese. French onion soup was perhaps the best thing as it was slightly different a bit spicy. The prime rib was cooked as ordered and a generous serving at that.
My wife and I had reservations for our wedding anniversary.
The staff were friendly and inviting. The atmosphere was simple and refined.
The wine selection was impressive.
We stated with the shrimp cocktail good as expected.
My wife's salmon was good yet slightly overcooked. Her garlic mashed potatoes were amazing.
The house wedge salad was terrific.
Steak fries were flashed cooked, with the interior hard and raw.
I ordered the ribeye blue rare. The steak I received had no crust and was gray in color and over done. The server said the kitchen forgot the order and attempted to grill a pre- roasted prime rib on the fly. Needless to say the end product was not as advertised.
We have heard good reviews prior and hope this is a one off occasion.
The filet mignon as well as the ribeye was melt in your mouth tender and cooked to perfection! Ashton was a great server and treated my wife and I to a wonderful night. My glass never went empty and the food arrived with impeccable timing!! 10/10 highly recommended
Nice atmosphere, dark, and pleasant. I took my wife in for a date, and we had a great time.
Food was delicious. The staff was prompt and friendly.
My food was wrong, but it was corrected quickly.
Desserts were amazing.
First time here. Salad excellent good blue cheese dressing. Large thick juicy bone-in pork chop was cooked perfectly & nice flavor, side of mashed potatoes. Wife had chicken Alfredo was excellent. Servers very friendly only issue had to request bread bowl and then a refill which never came, but didn't need because main course serving size was very large. Overall, recommend for a nice meal, of course not cheap
Recommend making a reservation here simply due to the high foot traffic that could arrive anytime. Adreyn did amazing job with us and is a great server. I had the NY Strip and split the spinach dip washing down with an smoked old fashion and an Seven Mile Merlot glass. So far the best place I have found in the whole state of Iowa!
