This hotel was great. I decided last minute to stay when I arrived from Sydney and had a 12 hour layover. Shuttle picked me up and the driver was very helpful-even to this young woman that was not staying at the hotel but needed help finding her shuttle.
Yes it is outdated. But clean and well cared for.
The staff was so nice. From the front desk to the restaurant. Even this nice gentleman taking out the trash helped me with better bills to g buy water out of the machine (cash based - no credit cards). The pool was very clean but not resort like. More like a pool in your backyard with concrete. But it abuts the tikki bar and restaurant. Was fun that they were putting up Christmas decorations and had the music on. They were clearly into the spirit.
Honestly, my favorite part was how crisp and clean the sheets were after I took a shower, when I got to my room to get rid of that off feeling you have after of all night travel-slept soundly for 3 hours…
Not planning on staying long and need a spot for a short stay closest to the Honolulu airport? Then Airport Honolulu Hotel will do. Don't get me wrong, staff was friendly and everything was 'good enough', but this definitely isn't where you want to spend a vacation or stay for multiple nights. $200 for one night, less than 2 hours, room was okay... needs updating, more attention to cleanliness, dusty, thin towels, they do not offer 24 hour shuttle service as advertised (but did end up waiting 5 mins for us to book it from our gate after our delayed late night flight)... They did allow an hour late check out which helped us with our plans (which is earning the third star), so we checked out the pool. The restaurant is open to the pool area which makes ordering drinks and food convenient from the small pool. Don't count on attentive service, friendly enough, but not quick service at all. Pool was clean, area was clean and lush enough with palms to help bring a tropical ambiance in the middle of a business district. Another positive is there is a a Starbucks across the street within easy walking distance.
In a bind, it'll do but didn't love it.
The room was clean, the bed covers were a little thin. There is a $29 fee for amenities that was not mentioned before buying online. The amenities include the hotel shuttle, swimming pool, WiFi, fitness center, and others. The deposit was low $50. You get a free drink voucher to use at the hotel restaurant that must be used before 10am, which the times were not mentioned to me so I wasn’t aware. The hotel had multiple elevators which is helpful. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Overall the stay was pleasant and satisfactory.
We stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel is not new but it's clean and the location is perfect. There is a free shuttle to the airport. Quick check in, and you get complimentary drink. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great service at the front desk, bar, and restaurant.
Older hotel that has been decently maintained. Stayed here for one night while traveling through for work. Nice convenient location. Airport shuttle picked me up quickly. Pool area clean and relaxing. What really impressed me was the restaurant and lounge (Shark's Den and Lazy Fish) Amazing food! If I lived here, I would come back to this hotel just to eat.
1. First of all, we wait 30mins for the 4-mins ride shuttle bus to come, while if you walk from the airport to the hotel, it only takes 20mins.
2. Secondly, the facility is old. We are glad it’s at least clean.
3. We got two vouchers for the breakfast, on our way to the room, we were happy to see the hotel restaurant seems nice. However the next morning, we found out it takes $25 for the buffet, with the vouchers you can only pick one out of six options here. Very disappointed.
I live here on Oahu which means I should be qualified for the Kama’aina discount which they have gave me before. But when I came a second time the staff member kept saying I had to book it the “Kama’aina way” which made no sense because she did not care to explain when I questioned her about it and continued to say “you didn’t book it the Kama’aina way”. That staff in particular was very rude and sassy, she shouldn’t be working at the front desk if that’s how she greets guets. The icebox was small and didn’t have a freezer like the last room we had, the last room had a small icebox with a freezer. The TV was a lot smaller than the last room. Other than that, the room was clean, shower was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
The only reason I picked this one is I have early morning flight and it helps if the hotel have shuttle. This one, no instructions on their website where to find the shuttle, "call the hotel operator after you pick up the bags". I have to call 3 times to find the location. As the 1st time visitor, by no mean I will know there is a pre-arrangment location in the HNL airport. The operator just left me on the phone "I already told you"
By the way, 1 dollar per bag is encouraged, even though you paid the resort fee which already listed "airport shuttle" as one of their services.
