Best WLM Reviews
There's one thing I know about Long Islander's, they love their diners. Diners stay open late, have friendly servers, great service and offer heaping portions of tasty food. They also serve breakfast all day.
I stopped in for a late night meal and was really impressed. I totally enjoyed a hot bowl of Matzah ball soup, an open Turkey sandwich with onion rings and french fries while my better half had a Reuben sandwich with fries. The portions were large and hard to finish. Long live the doggie bag.
Start your day with breakfast - featuring omelettes, fruits, cereals, bagel bin, french toast, waffles, pancakes, and griddle specials. Their lunch menu offers sandwiches from the Carving board, Triple Decker Sandwiches, Cold platters, Jumbo burgers, Salads, Wraps, and Airport Specials. Dinner and later features Soups, Appetizers, Open sandwiches, Grecian delights, Italian specialties, Steaks & Chops, Surf & turf combos, Treasures from the sea, and a large choice of side orders.
The Airport Diner is on my list, as one of the most popular eateries, conveniently located near the MacArthur airport. Stop in and tell them I sent you. You'll love the food, folks and warm atmosphere.
Has a very large menu, lots of choices. We ordered steak and cheese sub, chicken baked Alaska and chicken and seafood Marsala. Portions are huge so be hungry or be ready to share or bring some home. I was the only one able to finish my dinner. They bring warm bread and butter before serving, which was good. Greek salads were good. The dressing was pink, which spooked us a little but was still very tasty. The sub had a lot of onions, so make sure you want that. Chicken was done perfectly for both meals, but my wife didn't like the stuffing because it wasn't real crab. The Marsala sauce was delicious, but It went better with the chicken than the seafood. Took 3 deserts to go for later because we were so stuffed. They look great.
Food was good portioned, except appetizer with the wings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders for the price I excepted more Then 3 3 3. I’m not going to take any star away for the appetizer. Because service and food was great.
Good food and a very friendly server!
Enjoyed a turkey sandwich, it was well prepared and tasty. Cole slaw was lacking in flavor.
The omelette was delicious!
We were seated quickly as it wasn't that busy!
Always a great meal to be had at the Airport Diner. Family run for generations. Great food, great people.
Came here for dinner with my sister and a friend of ours along with my mom and our friends mother. The diner was great and the food was amazing. The owner was such a sweetheart and gave us free cookies, it was a beautiful diner and will definitely stop by again in future
This restaurant was recommended by a friend because I was with a picky eater and the menu had everything. However this is my reason for the 3 stars. The menu was a bit overwhelming and all over the place. The food was OK. My bill was roughly 20 bucks and change...I ordered an unsweetened tea and the french dip sandwich, and that's it. Seemed a bit pricey to me. My friend ordered potatoe skins and chicken tenders with fries. The server and staff were super nice and helpful ????
Went with my husband for lunch. The service was nice and friendly.
For drinks we ordered a strawberry daiquiri which was bitter and not sweet (I added some sweet n low and it tasted fine after that) and a Long Island Iced Tea which was strong and had a nice flavor.
We had soup and wings for an appetizer. I don’t see why they call them “buffalo” wings if they are just fried wings with no sauce. For $16 it seemed a bit of false advertising as we wouldn’t have ordered them if we knew they were like that.
For our mains we had a roast beef sandwich and a eggplant panini. Both were really good. Lots of fries, perfectly rare roast beef which came with a side of mayo that we didn’t even have to ask for. The eggplant panini was delicious with melted mozz and roasted pepper.
Overall it was good enough, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again but I wouldn’t avoid it either.
