Air Venice was my “budget” option for Los Angeles, though it wasn’t exactly a bargain. However, they do offer a decent product at a reasonable price.
The rooms are spacious, clean, but very basic. There’s no heating or air conditioning, so you’ll need to rely on the provided fan or, as in my case, a space heater.
The staff are friendly and helpful, but the provided WiFi is quite slow, which made staying connected challenging.
Instead of a room key, you’re given a code, which I found to be a convenient feature. My room included an oversized but unfortunately noisy fridge, an underpowered microwave, and a small seating area. While there wasn’t a kettle—which I would have preferred for making tea—they did supply a single-cup coffee maker, which I used as a kettle during my stay.
The property’s greatest asset is its location, situated right on the beach.
I like this hotel for the great view, location on the boardwalk and friendly staff. Prices are good for being right on the beach. I love the huge fridge that comes with the room and the laundry option as well. My only complaint is the bed is a bit too firm and check in is a little slow.
My partner and I stopped for 1 night and we loved the location of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating toward us. We would stay here again if we are ever passing through LA again. Venice Beach is SUCH a vibe. Yes, there are homeless people in the area but they are harmless, and it is a very unfortunate reality of the world today. I marked 1 star off just because the entry door slams every time someone comes and goes. If we come back, we will request a room in a higher level. Perhaps an automatic sliding door could be good? Just a suggestion ☺️
Perfect location for beach lovers! Every room has a sea view! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was absolutely spotless. Loved the coffee maker. Fantastic value for money!
Surprisingly nice. Had some concerns from earlier reviews but I have zero complaints. The room wasn’t large but certainly fine for 1 person. Had a queen bed, was clean, fridge, closet, bureau, TV, nice shower, all toiletries, good towels - enough for a 3-day stay. AND a great view of the ocean from the window. Was far enough back from the boardwalk so any noise was not a problem. I had read about a couple of noisy clubs down below but they were closed by 9pm. An ordinance, maybe? Anyway, best bargain around, helpful staff at the front desk and a good elevator. If available, will be my first choice when I go back!
Amazing experience! Right on the beach and surrounded by local restaurants with delicious food, stores, and fun places to go. Front desk is nice and helpful. Rooms may need a little remodeling, but for 3 star hotel for the price is excellent deal. Easy access to the beach. Wonderful view from the window from the upper story. Definitely will come back another vacation. I need to be on the beach and I got it with this hotel.
There's a certain irony to calling a hotel "AIR Venice" and then NOT having Air Conditioning. You can't beat the price for the area (much of LA) but you don't get what you don't pay for, and that's apparently A/C. It's probably fine in cooler months but when it's 100° out, a fan doesn't quite cut it. Front desk attendants often being gone, furniture from IKEA, and lack of basic amenities like a simple bar of soap all detract from the experience the website advertises. But it's clean and the location is great, so I'll give it that.
Gross. The place is soooo disappointing and actually gross. The pictures they advertise are not an accurate representation. When we saw the room, the floors were horrible looking and badly need to be replaced and look like you would never be able to be barefoot in the room, the windows to the "ocean view" were so dirty that we could barely see the homeless people and their carts below let alone the ocean, the furniture has water spots and bubbles where the paint is chipped off. It is worse than something like a motel 8 or motel 6. We could not stay here and politely explained that the photos online were misleading and the management said they would not issue a refund.
