Went for a simple eye infection. Their in house pharmacy filled the eye drop prescription with ear drops. The attending nurse over rode the system warning that med was wrong and then put ear drops in my eye. I’m currently at a specialist to be sure my eye was not damaged. The mistake was pure negligence. The bottle had an ear in it and said warning for ears only. The system told them it was the wrong item. In addition they color code the lids on eye drops to prevent this very accident from happening and yet, here we are where at least 3 people at same hospital were unable to distinguish between eye and ear drops. Thank god I noticed the ear on the packaging and warning when I went to use medication next day. Their eye doctor said I could have caused serious damage using it 4 times a day as directed. As it is my eye is inflamed and not happy.
I found this hospital to be extremely well managed. The staff loves working there and you can see that they all work as a team and are willing to help in any way. The care is comprehensive and professional. Dr. Kaur and her team left no stone unturned to make sure all my medical needs were taken care of. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food served from a fairly large menu. No one likes going to the hospital but if I ever have another issue requiring hospitalization I wont think twice
about going back.
I went in on 11/11/24 for an outpatient procedure. I had the early slot, 5:30. I was taken back quickly and was completely ready well before my actual surgical time. The nurses /staff knew exactly what they were doing and did everything in a very efficient and organized manner, while keeping a calm and happy attitude. They were all very kind and made sure that I was comfortable. The doctors were awesome, as always. They all made sure that I understood everything that was going on and didn’t have any questions. I would definitely use Aiken again if I was in need of assistance (ER) or needed another surgical procedure done. I would give them more stars if possible. Thank you!!
The staff was courteous but they didn't find the root cause of my daughter's chest pain and why she was having a hard time breathing. The work excuse contradicted itself making it very confusing. When I called about getting it clarified, I was just shut down and the lady didn't listen to anything I said. So we ended up at doctors care today and the found the issue and they are treating it. How would you feel about it? I feel like we wasted our money by going to the Emergency room and should have went to Doctors Care to begin with.
I went for a mammogram -- waiting was minimal. The people were professional and friendly. I plan to go there for my next one even though it is an hour drive. You don't get results the same day like at Doctor's Hospital, but everything else is better. Overall, great experience, considering the reason for appointment:)
I haven’t been a patient at this ER in years. Much to my surprise, this was a wonderful, professional, detailed visit. I was treated with respect and care from all nursing staff and the doctor who treated me. I felt as if my concerns were addressed and my problem was diagnosed and I’m already on the mend. Also, my wait was very short.
I would suggest re-evaluating the individuals at the front desk. These people are often the first face people speak with to represent Aiken Regional. I’m not sure if being sarcastic to someone in pain, who was been nothing but kind to them, is a good way to handle patients. This isn’t the first negative encounter I’ve had with the front desk. Perhaps sensitivity training might help. Overall, wonderful ER experience! Don’t waste your time going over the bridge for a day wait! Aiken Regional was fast, efficient, and highly recommended.
The Aiken Regional Medical Center hospital staff are awesome! Everyone from the Receptionist to the medical staff has been friendly and professional. Each time I went, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I do want to say thank you to Katie who performed my Echo exam and Shannon who did a pre-op interview. Both were professional, had excellent customer service skills, and just great people. They are truly an asset to this hospital.
All the nurses and techs took such good care of me. Being away from home, and being sick was difficult. I felt pampered by the staff. Oh and my Dr Alaa was wonderful. Beautiful bedside manner. Excellent quality.
