Had a great experience here! The place was so clean and nice. All the staff were friendly, from the front desk, nurses, ultra sound tech, and doctor. All around great experience. Dr Anna Marie was amazing and never felt more comfortable and listened to by an ER doc
Great facilities and great staff. Having my daughter going through pneumonia and strep is hard enough and our nurses did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Children's has always been the go-to place, but the pediatric unit is more then capable.
I was supposed to deliver my second baby at West Penn but was not going to make it into the city so the ambulance took me to Wexford. I could not have had a better experience and am so glad I got to deliver at this hospital!
From the second I arrived everyone was so friendly and supportive! My nurse in Labor and Delivery (and fellow red head) really stood out! She took the time to make my baby girl a hat with a bow, and made sure I felt comfortable and welcome!
I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone having a baby! Although it is not where my doctors deliver at, I would consider switching to be able to deliver here in the future!
P.S. the little goody bag with the Chick-fil-a onesie is ADORABLE!
I'm using a different name on here then what I was admitted to with I went to the ICU unit at first transferred from another hospital and then eventually got better and put on the fifth floor the doctor I had there doesn't have a clue on what she was doing she didn't listen to me at all, changed my medicine to a slow acting when I need a fast acting medication without me knowing I had to find out from the nurses. Which by the way the nurses and staff other than this doctor I loved them they were so nice and the food was good and care was great but that doctor had me crying in my hospital room because of how insensitive and invalidating she was.
I have been to AHN emergency room twice in the last month, 1st time was because I missed the last 2 steps in my basement and broke my ankle, it wasn't a very long wait and the nurses and other staff were very kind. My only complaint about that time was I was given a boot to wear and it looked like it was made for a giant, I wore it home and wore it for not even 24 hours, thankfully I had another boot at home that I could wear. My second trip to the ER was a week and a half after I broke my ankle, I had a blood clot in each of my lungs, the care I was given from the ER staff was amazing. I was then sent to the ICU and the nurses I had were amazing. I was told when I got to the ICU that I wasn’t allowed to eat even though my procedure wasn't till 1pm the following day, the nurse was able to work things out and I was able to eat. The night time nurse I had that night, her name is Leah and she is amazing at her job. I was still hungry after my dinner and I was going to have my boyfriend get me something to snack on out of the vending machine, Leah said there wasn't much in there other than healthy stuff and I wasn't feeling it. She shared some chips and queso with me out of her own lunch! Then the next day I had a young nurse by the name of Maddy, she was ok, not my favorite but did a good job. The night time nurse that night and the night after her name is Maddy, she is the charge nurse and she was amazing as well. My last day in the ICU I was waiting to be put in a regular hospital room, I waited till 9pm but Maddy was there that night and was amazing, she told me that they said do we really need to move her and she said yes, she has been waiting all day! She wheels me down to the regular hospital room and went to help me get into bed, funny thing is the bed wasn't locked, thankfully I didn't fall, I am pretty sure I gave Maddy a heart attack because she thought I almost fell on my butt. The nurses on the normal hospital floor were good, none of them really stuck out to me like the ICU nurses. If I am ever in need of a hospital or ICU or ER I will be back to AHN. Leah, and Maddy thank you for taking such great care of me. I hope to never see you guys again but I am glad that I got you 2 as my nurses
I brought my teen daughter here to the ED today after her peds determined she was likely dehydrated and required some testing. Every person we encountered was incredible. They treated me and my daughter with kindness from beginning to end. The staff walked her through every test or procedure they were doing so she understood what was happening. They helped her get comfortable in a room and checked on her frequently while we awaited test results. Very impressed with the staff and our complete experience.
I went to the ER and was seen by a doctor within ten minutes. Received a CT scan almost immediately. Based on that was moved to a room in the hospital for observation and further testing. The following day was transported to AGH at the request of the specialists. Every part of the experience exceeded expectations - from the ER to transport to AGH and everything in between. Fantastic care. Thank you AHN!
Came for dizziness, fall, possible syncope, back pain and headache. Sent to waiting room. Had x-rays of back and sent back to waiting room. Had EKG and sent back to waiting room. After about 1 1/2 he’s, brough to room. Labs sent. Taken to CT. Told doc would be “right in” anyone later still no doc. Crappy thermometer reads 94.5 and PCT charts that!!! Not accurate but whatever. Pulse ox alarming in 80’s with decent waveform… no one comes to check.
