Had an upper endoscopy at the surgery center here. The staff were all professional and kind (nurses, drs, check in desk, everyone). The anesthesiologist was wonderful in hearing my concerns and easing my nerves about the procedure. The room I was in prior to the procedure was private and had a semi private bathroom attached.
Probably the worst hospital I've been too. The staff in the ER seem to not give 2 cents about their patients, except for maybe 1 or 2 nurses. If you expect to be admitted, you better eat something, because they do not care if you are hungry, or have not eaten in over 12 hours. The wait time is horrible, regardless of how busy they are, and it seems to be that there is zero communication between staff. My mother-in-law was there for 16 hours before they told her they have to transfer her to Pittsburgh
I went for a pre-employment drug test. I was a little confused as where to go and there was no one at the help desk. There were two gentlemen way back in the registration area, but no one greeted me. I saw the lab registration desk and the people were on their cell phones with no one in the lobby, mind you. They sent me to registration. The gentleman that took care of me was kind, intelligent, and helpful. When I returned to the lab desk, they too were kind and helpful. In the back lab, the employees there were ALSO kind and helpful. I am a little shocked by so many negative reviews, but my experience was pleasant. My only advice would be to have more direction as to where to report or at least be greeted to be given direction. Maybe, if the hospital isn't busy, have a registration person greet people? Or have a sign telling people to go straight to the registration desk? If there is one, I missed it. Just a suggestion.
Worst experience ever, will never return. Rudest reception / intake ever. After driving 2 hours we were 18 mins late and that's how she started the whole outpatient surgery process. She kept coming at me in the waiting room making me, the family member, feel uncomfortable and threatened. The nurse in the back dismissed her like she does this routinely. My husband will find a new place for neck injections. We will not be back. If possible i will go back to UPMC and leave AHN based on this horrible care provided.
I am a recovering addict, and a lot of times we get funny looks when we tell people, especially people we feel are 'above us' or the ones who would judge us the most. I walked into the ultrasound appointment for my liver with a little over a year clean, was in the process of doing treatment. This sweet blonde nurse took me back. Everything about her aura just ratiated gratitude and positivity... I can't explain it. But I was quiet and she went to make conversation, she asked why I was getting an ultrasound on my liver. Fearing judgement, I confidently told her my story. She told me she was going to put me in her prayer book and my face lit up. I never had faith growing up, or throughout addiction.... Out of all of the things that have kept me sober in the past 3 years, which I never thought I would see the day... that prayer helped more than you know. That nurse popped in my head today and I came here to tell her THANK YOU in hopes that she sees this.

I have had several good experiences with this hospital and trust them.
Please go to Butler or drive to Farrell. This hospital wants to bring you in and then send you home having done nothing, and tell you to see your PCP. They literally do not care.
How does someone come in with horrific pain and get abnormal blood test results, and then sent home? Especially when the blood work indicates serious problems.
How does someone come in with an infection visually traveling up their leg, handed an antibiotic, and then sent home?
How does someone come in and get an xray done, told they have a fracture and to follow up with their pcp. Sent home without a wrap, a boot, or any care at all. What was the point of even treating them?
This is a glorified and much more expensive UC. That’s all they are. You are better off going anywhere else. This hospital should be shut down. Their negligence is going to get people hurt if it hasn’t already.
I wish I could give all the negative stars in the world to this garbage hospital. I came in an hour ago with hives. I’ve sat in a bed freezing and itchy. Not one person has been in yet. I’m just here. My hands are swollen and numb. My feet are the same. My entire body is itching. I’m having a reaction to a medication. But they don’t care. This is by far the worst hospital. I’ll be filing a complaint thru their higher ups
