Had lunch there. Good food. Service was okay but never saw a smile. Felt like we were bothering her. Chef did good show with good food.
Never had a bad experience or food here, but this time I'm am so extremely disappointed. Not only was the food over cooked , the rice undercooked ,no seasoning, and the vegetables and rice portions cut down. For the price they are asking, they could at least do the cooking show . Which we didn't get either. The server even didn't ask how our food was but instead walked up with togo boxs the minute the cook walked away. We were three bites in before she asked if we needed a togo box .When expressing our feeling along with the rest of the table to the supposedly boss on duty, we were told she wasn't a manager and non on duty . She could only offer to use a 10 dollar off coupon from the newspaper. Very disappointed Ah So's . It sucks to spend so much on food and drinks and be completely disappointed.
I usually love this place. This was the second not so great experience. The food was bland as was our chef. No show and no flavor tonight. 15 dollars a glass for cheap wine and 120 dollars for 2 people to eat is a bit much. And they bring the bill and chase you out long before you finish eating. Not comfortable or relaxing for a nice meal out. Won’t be going back. PS I never do negative reviews but spend ur hard earned money somewhere else!
Kids loved the fish pond in the restaurant and were amazed at the preparation of the food, especially the flames from the onion volcano. My big party also enjoyed watching the chef work with the food and then dish it out. Everything we ate tasted great. I should mention we were celebrating a birthday and they came out with a drum and banged out a song wishing my son a Happy Birthday.
Horrible experience.
Wanted to introduce my family to hibachi and my old to go spot got shut down so we gave this one a try. Upon entering the building we were greeted and directed to our seats in a very dark and stuffy room. Decor looks outdated and dusty.
We got seated and a lady took our orders and it took them 15 minutes to bring out the mushroom soup and the salad.
Service by our hostess remained slow all night. Food was smaller than what l've had at all hibachi places l've been to.
We were left hungry.
Got our bill and was surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to our party of 4. l asked the server about it and she said it is usually added to parties of 6+ but since costs have gone up they have started to charge that for everyone. They said it also had to do with the owners revamping the menu and incurring lots of extra costs. I had already tipped my hibachi chef, whose show was the bare minimum to say the least. And was planning on tipping the server more but after that experience it was just not good at all.
Food was nothing great- waste of money and way too expensive.
This was my first time here. The staff was very friendly and nice. The food was cooked to order in front of us, and the chef was funny keeping up the conversation. We did make a reservation ahead of time, and our table was ready when we got there. I definitely want to come back just for the entertainment.
First time there, our friends brought us there. Everything there was delicious and the chef was amazing. We will definitely go back.
I’m disappointed to say we had a terrible experience at Ah-So Glendale location. We went for my wife’s birthday, and the chef was inexperienced and did not cook enough rice or vegetables. The table of guests were all upset because the rice had to be re-cooked, and it tasted like vegetable oil and was inedible. Then our calamari was given to another guest, so he had to re-cook that. Our calamari that was served to us had no flavor and it was not cooked all the way (rubbery and gummy). We refused to eat it because you can get very sick. They refused refunding us the calamari, so we had them make us a new one, but had to have it to go since we were out with our 1 year old son, and the chef already took up so much of our time. My wife started feeling sick from the excessive oil and had to take our son outside while closed out the $90 bill. Our server offered to cover half of our bill since it was such a terrible experience and the food was not edible, but the management came back and said no. They didn’t even want to cook us a new calamari steak at first, they wanted me to hand-pick the calamari off my plate for them to take in the back and cook. The manager said if my wife had to go to the hospital, then they have insurance that would cover it. After 20 years of our family going to this location (in addition to the other Peoria location), we will never be coming back and will let our family and friends know as well. Obviously their customers and service do not matter, and all they care about is money. We do not get to spend money on dinners very often, so this special occasion was unfortunately a very negative experience and ruined our night out as a family and birthday celebration.
