Best WLM Reviews

I recently had a fantastic experience at my doctor's office. Patience and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and I felt well taken care of. I didn't have to wait long before my issue was addressed, researched, and resolved. I ended the call feeling confident in the care I received. I highly recommend this doctor's office to anyone needing medical care.
I have been with Dr. Aguilar for almost 15 years and his staff, and the doctor, are always friendly and efficient. Dr. Aguilar is knowledgeable and takes the time to listen and address all my questions and concerns. Dr. Aguilar is also very patient and makes sure I understand any treatment or medication that he prescribes. I always leave Dr. Aguilar’s office feeling confident that I have received the best care possible.
I've been a patient of Aguilar Family Health Care since 2011 and in the past have had a very high level of quality service, but it seems this place has recently sailed into a type of drab complacency. Scheduling is often an arduous ordeal. It's very difficult to set an appointment with the main physician in charge for a reasonable time, something that's quite noticeable with other places here in San Antonio (For example, Gonzaba Medical). If you finally are able to establish an appointment with the main physician, you're quite often rushed through your appointment when you’re finally seen. The front office is efficient, but on two occasions (once in 2019 and just recently in 2024) I hadn't been properly notified prior a holiday of the set appointment time (one call in the late afternoon should never be considered an appropriate notification). If there is a holiday weekend and you have an appointment on a Monday, there is no easy way for you to cancel that appointment. They'll often point to the "patient portal" online service, but the main clientele of the office from what I've witnessed this last 13 years is older patients. Why focus on the patient portal? Why make the ordeal even more difficult with the creation of another login and account? Why not establish a non-emergency line or an answering service that can properly take calls (something that I've positively experienced with my allergist and nutritionist in the medical center)? This, to me, is just pure difficulty for the sake of difficulty. A medical practice should ultimately be a place of healing, not a place which fosters cancer-inducing stress and inflammation.
Overall, the physician assistants on staff are quite knowledgeable and compassionate and the same could be said for Dr. Aguilar when he isn't too busy, but I hope that maybe more consideration is given for the established patients in the near future and that the many smaller facets that make up the grand total that is the human interaction experience are given review and given an overhaul for the patient's holistic benefit.
Physician Assistant Hettler-Lopez is fantastic, she is so genuine and Caring. We switched medical groups and have been really happy with the ease of making appointments. They keep their appointment times so you aren’t waiting hours. The entire staff is friendly and when you call in they follow up. I wish more providers were like this group.
Dr. Aguilar has been my doctor for many years now. I can certify that he takes the time to get to know and help his patients and has their best interests in mind, always. He has been there for me in good health and bad and is always making sure I’m taken care of. I’ve recommended friends and family to his care. If you value personal care, you will appreciate his bed side manner.
You can tell these 5 star reviews are fake & made by the staff, because they all sound the same and most importantly they mention seeing Dr. Aguilar which is FALSE, he doesn’t see his patients, only has PA’s working at the clinic, I’ve been there 15 or more years and never once even had the option to see an actual Doctor, much less Dr. Aguilar. Fake reviews is what they have to do now to get their ratings up.
I have been having more asthma attacks than usual which I’ve had since birth & called for a refill on my inhaler, and I’m told they cannot refill my prescription for my inhaler because I have to come in for a follow up since it’s been a year since my
last visit, but the first available appointment isn’t for 3 weeks! And a follow up does nothing for me since it doesn’t change the fact that I have asthma and need an inhaler now! Not 3 weeks. I was told if I need one that bad, just to go to the ER. As if they’re going to pay my huge bill instead of being able to get a refill on something I’ve had since birth. They didn’t seem to care one bit but I’m sure if it was their own family member it would be different. Y’all stay away from Aguilar Family Health Care on westover hills, I’ve been having issues with them for almost 15 years & I just stayed with them out of convenience of where I live but it is not worth it! Different doctors come & go, can’t ever get an appointment sooner than a month even for emergencies, and rudest clinical staff. So mad. ???? I need to find a new doctor in my area. You can’t even build a rapport with a doctor because they come and go. My advice is find a different clinic and don’t wait years like I did.
FYI an inhaler is an emergency inhaler not something someone can wait for just because the clinic wants to make money by making you come in, in order to refill a prescription you’ve been needing since birth.
I have been a patient in this clinic for the past 19 years. Absolutely love working with Dr. Aguilar. He takes his time and is very through. I recommend him to all my family and friends! His nurse Debbie is so sweet and very friendly. Overall the staff are all helpful and super friendly!
This office provides an exceptional experience! The staff is friendly and attentive, making every thing smooth and comfortable. Paul stands out for his helpfulness and professionalism, ensuring that all concerns are addressed. Highly recommend this practice for anyone seeking quality care and a welcoming atmosphere!
