Best WLM Reviews
Some of the very best food we have had in DC! The sampler appetizer plate was wonderful, along with the zucchini and kibbeh. The shrimp was fabulous. The only unimaginative dish was the fish, but still tasty. The rose ice cream with kanafeh was also wonderful. Three stars for atmosphere because inside it was insanely loud; we sat outside but the heaters went off just as it got colder.
Highly recommend Agora.
The cocktail and wine selections are fantastic, offering a wide variety of options to complement the meal.
For dinner, we tried an array of dishes, including the Taramosalata, Sucuklu Pide, Ottoman Rice, fried cauliflower, grilled prawns, Kofte, and the Anadolu Manti. Each plate was delicious, showcasing bold flavors and expert preparation. I highly recommend the Anadolu Manti — these dumplings were amazing. The small plate style is perfect for sharing, and I’d recommend ordering about three dishes per person to fully explore the menu.
The Pistachio Soufflé for dessert was perfect—light, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered thoughtful recommendations that truly elevated our experience.
To top it all off, the decor and ambiance created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a memorable evening out.
**I will say, this restaurant automatically adds a 3% surcharge to all checks. This does not take the place of gratuity, and is explained as a way for the restaurant to keep up with increasing expenses, etc.. While the check notes that you can request the removal of this surcharge, I really don’t like this and wish they would simply raise the cost of each menu item. The cost listed on the menu should be the cost of the meal, rather than a 3% higher surprise once you’ve completed your meal.**
Agora DC is an absolute gem for Mediterranean cuisine! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a modern, cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable. The food is simply amazing—every dish is bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend the lamb chops and the hummus trio, which are both exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always willing to offer great suggestions if you're unsure what to try. Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or a special occasion, Agora DC is the perfect spot. I'll definitely be returning!
This was my friend and I’s first time and food stop in DC. Being impressed is an understatement!! The food, the ambiance, and the service was phenomenal! The highlights of our dish was the Beef Sis Kebab and the Octopus. I could not believe the quality of both. Both were extremely tender and flavorful. Most importantly, shout out to our waiter Harold, who was so personable and transparent. He recommended most of what else ordered, and it was a success. Thanks so much!
This is a very nice restaurant. My daughter brought my wife and me to this restaurant to give it a try. we didn’t have any alcoholic drinks for during brunch, we absolutely loved the food.
Would I come back again? Absolutely. But I would come in an empty stomach :).
Cute place with a great atmosphere, but the tables are a bit narrow.
The portions are pretty small.
✅I liked the ruby mocktail, and the hummus samplers are worth trying as a shared dish for the table.
????The lamb chops were tough, and there seemed to be more onions than eggplant on the eggplant appetizer
Go to this restaurant ONLY if you are into vibes, ambiance and drinks. The food here is average at best. The food certainly looks good when its brought to the table, no doubt there, but take one bite and you realize that its been sitting for a good few mins and also doesn't taste like turkish food should. The only thing good about the food was the warm bread with molasses and olive oil. Don't really know what's going on here and where the 5 star reviews are coming from. Strictly avoid if you want to have good food.
One last thing, the parking situation around the resto is horrendous. Keep a good 15-20 min window before your reservation if you are looking to parallel park.
Amazing food! Smallish plates that if ordered, 2-3 plates/person will have your palate satisfied! Great service and the Chestnut soufflé is to die for!
