Best WLM Reviews

We loved our stay at The Aggieland Boutique Hotel! The service was exceptional and the hotel has a really cool vibe. The decor has an industrial chic feel. They had fresh baked cookies and fresh popcorn all weekend. The breakfast was great…biscuits & gravy, real bacon, sausage links, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, bagels & waffles, fruit salad, and juices. We had a room with the king bed and bunk beds, it was great for the kids to have their own space. The rooms were very clean and stocked with all the things needed. We were in town for a softball tournament, the hotel was within 6 minutes of all the parks. I saw that some reviews complained about the water pressure in the showers, we had no issues at all. We will definitely stay again in the future.
Our stay here was great. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was typical for complimentary. I did like how they did the eggs. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.
I put a three for location because there is really no place to bring your dog to potty outside. The hotel allows pets (for a fee), but there is really no where to take them. There is a muddy patch of grass with a fire hydrant behind the hotel. Otherwise there are rocks everywhere else covered in burrs. I chose this hotel particularly because they accept pets. It is my one and only complaint.
Booked double beds. Room is not spacious, but not small either. Beds r comfy to our liking. 5 floors hotel with only 2 elevators so I imagine people would have to wait when it is busy. Typical breakfast with scrambled eggs, seasoned dice potatoes, or bacon, diy waffles, juice, coffee. There is a bar open from 4pm-10pm. About 20 parking lot in front, and overflow on the side and back. There r some restaurants in walking distance. Overall, our stay was good. Would stay here again.
My wife and I checked in for a weekend of leisure. I consider myself reasonably tolerant when it comes to slightly inconvenient issues associated with short-term accommodations. This property is laced with issues. Upon arrival, neither our TV nor our landline (so I could call front desk regarding TV) were working. For a hotel that advertises as "pet friendly" I was very surprised to find not one single, solitary blade of green grass on the grounds. When walking my dog, I noticed relatively recent new fence construction. Problem with that was there were unused nails laying everywhere in the parking lot. I don't mean a few. Many, many. The room and furniture layout left much to be desired and there were two large holes from construction in my closet that were never filled/covered. Chunks of flooring were missing from the elevator. My Kyle Field room view (that costs extra) did not come with binoculars so that I could actually make out Kyle Field. I could go on with a plethora of issues but I believe it would be belaboring the point. I am an Aggie, class of '83. If this hotel is owned by any Aggies, you should be ashamed. I will not be staying again nor would I ever recommend it.
The hotel was good for what we paid for it. The staff and manager were awesome. We had a big group with a bunch of kids and they were very patient and gracious with us.
The setup is cool where the bar opens up to the pool and the kids could play in the pool while we watched the football games. Mathea and Latoya were awesome host and made sure we were well fed and hydrated. We will stay here again when we come in for a game.
To be in the hospitality business, this hotel has no sense of what it means to be hospitable or run a people-oriented business. We booked 2 nights here because my daughter’s team was staying here. Most of the team had a disappointing experience as well; but I will share my experience.
1- We were excited about the bunk bed room that we booked online more than a month advance, only to be told (at check-in) that there were no bunk bed rooms available.
2- When housekeeping knocked on the door, I was in the restroom and told her “No thank you. Come back later.” With in 5 minutes, I left the room and found the housekeeping ladies 2 doors down and told them “You can clean room number *** now.” One of the ladies responded “Yes-okay”. When I returned that evening, no one had cleaned the room. I told the front desk lady and she said “that’s because they don’t speak English”. I suggested they teach them how to say “I don’t speak English” instead of saying ‘yes’ so I could’ve made sure my room was cleaned. She responded “I am not going to tell them what to do.”
3- I called and asked for late checkout to try to accommodate my daughter’s softball tournament schedule, citing that I am an IHG member and the member website says “late check out available up to 2pm at member’s request”. She said, “ya well, we don’t do that. Latest I can check you out is 12:30 and it costs extra.” I left the tournament and drove to checkout by 11. As I rode the elevator up to get my luggage, I had a nice conversation with the housekeeping lady on the elevator IN ENGLISH! At the checkout desk, I asked to speak to the manager. Not surprisingly, I was told “they aren’t here and I don’t know when they will be.”
I told her I was dissatisfied and she shrugged and said “that’s fine.”
In my conversations with the front desk, I always gave them a way to remedy the situation; but they never did or even cared to.
We stayed at the Aggieland Boutique hotel in July, 2024 while in town for a family wedding. We are a family of four with two teenage sons. The hotel; itself, is a quaint setting. The room was nice; albeit small. However, being a "boutique" hotel our expectations regarding the room size were that is would be smaller than the norm. With two queen beds in the room, one of the beds was much to close to one wall. The person sleeping on the wall side of the bed was required to crawl over their bedmate in order to get out of bed. Issues with our room included the following: The light nor the electrical outlets between the bed were not working when we arrived. This matter was resolved while we were attending the wedding. Upon arriving back at the hotel, we readied ourselves for bed. During this exercise, it was found the bathroom sink was not draining. After an hour it drained resulting in a great inconvenience with us being very tired. The toilet paper was situated on a rack which hung from the toilet tank. When reaching for and removing paper, the roll would dislodge from the holder and land on the floor. The bathroom had a "pocket" door which would not lock. This was a major inconvenience when teenage boys are traveling with their Father and Stepmother. Also, there was no hook in the bathroom or room on the bathroom counter to rest clothing while showering or dressing. The in-room coffeemaker did not include the receptacle which should hold the coffee packet while brewing. The electrical outlet on the wall just below the headboard would be better placed a bit higher and easier to reach due to the small five inch space available between the wall and the bed. Room exists so the bed could be moved a bit further from the wall. The non working light, slow draining sink and incomplete coffee maker are issues which would not have existed had basic "quality control" procedures been in place. The hot breakfast and bar/ lounge area were nice. The bar service was good late Saturday night; however, the "no cash" policy would have been good to know know in advance of ordering drinks. Parking was limited but sufficient.
Good location, lobby bar and breakfast area are nice. The check in staff was friendly.
The elevator is a bit shabby, the hall way leading to the room was hot. Our room was hot when we arrived and it took most of the night to cool the room off. There is virtually no cold water in the room. Plenty of very hot water but the cold water in the shower has very low pressure. The shower is unusable due to the excess hot water with no cold water. We were told by staff that this is an ongoing issue.
I can NOT recommend this hotel at this moment. At a minimum a hotel should provide a working shower.
