Total great experience. The salsa was amazing. The green one was spicy how I like it. The brisket Tacos was really good too but the best was the warm spinach seafood salad great portion enough for 4 to enjoy shared or 3 really good portions. I’ll be back.
Agave Cocina & Tequila in Issaquah has a nice setting, especially if you opt for the outdoor seating during the summer. I tried the Veggie Fajitas this time, but the taste was unfortunately pretty ordinary. Having been here several times, I’ve found the food consistently underwhelming, which is disappointing given the promising atmosphere.
On the plus side, the staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience pleasant. However, if you’re looking for standout Mexican flavors, Agave may not be the top choice.
the prices on this menu are pretty high. a minimum of $20 for either a burrito or enchiladas seems excessive. i get that it's seattle, but there
are much cheaper mexican restaurants around that i would recommend instead
speaking of the enchiladas - i got the mushroom & spinach ones here
on the positive side, these were very much loaded with both mushroom and spinach, in a 'delicious compliance' kind of way.
the mushrooms were pretty soft, and both of them were cooked in a decent amount of oil - so that they tasted good
unfortunately, that was the only part of the meal i enjoyed
the enchiladas were sitting in a sauce that was just quite unenjoyable. i assume this was salsa verde, but it tasted nothing like good salsa verde that
i've had. for the most part, it was just really sour. when your experience on taking a first bite is confusion on why i taste nothing but sourness, that's just not an enjoyable eating experience. there was also no cheese inside at all, which was even worse because now the only thing was the extremely sour sauce.
I got about halfway through before I ended up just giving up and having something that someone else at the table ordered.
For the price, as I mentioned this is quite expensive, and you don't get a lot either
Overall, high-priced food that's not enjoyable to eat. 3.5/10
Oh my! This place has it all - environment, food, and service! Pull up to the bar and grab a mezcal margarita, or try the custom tequila. Today's is pineapple, coconut, and jalapeno. Go ahead and loosen your belt or wear stretch pants, because future regret is now. Shredded beef enchiladas, skirt steak tacos, or shrimp & scallop chili relleno with strawberries and sweet cream - you'll find something new and delicious here every visit.
We dined at Agave for the first time last night and tried the steak salad. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was excellent, and the salad was delicious. The salsa was great too!
What a joke. I’m currently sitting in this restaurant. The food was so bland and white washed that you can’t even taste the meat in the carne asada or the steak fajitas. The portions are tiny, only 3 slivers of bland tough beef for a $25 dollar fajita plate. We are sitting waiting for boxes and only got our food 5 minutes ago. We are going to a different restaurant.
The food was above average. There were 4 in our party and we all agreed. I had the Ceviche, super fresh, filling, and a wonderful lime flavor. I like picked onions. However, I ate them separately due to their strong flavor. I also had one al pastor taco with the homemade corn tortilla. Very good. They were accomidating to menu item changes, no green peppers with fajitas. This restaurant is above average by far.
This was my first time going here and my BF took me here for lunch. We both were feeling amped and ready to try a new place because we hit quite a few Mexican restaurants in the area and love to try new ones.
This one was ok, I really liked the chips and salsa that they give you. One of the salsas was very spicy, but flavorful. I enjoyed that as a starter while waiting for my food. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and it was really good. The rice was my favorite part. The mushrooms however were too big of pieces and unless you LOVE mushrooms, these are not for you. But I just picked them out and ate the rest of it.
The guacamole was DIVINE, I would eat a pound of that and not think twice. The crème was also very good. The corn tortillas however were probably my least fave part of the whole dish besides the mushrooms. But I ate them all and I would go back again and try another dish.
Service was good and my drink was meh. I have had better strawberry lemonades. Would have preferred to drink the lime juice they were fresh pressing at the bar, the smell from that area was nostalgic and phenomenal. Love the smell of lime. Fresh limes especially.
The atmosphere was meh, we sat outside because it was a nice day and the first seat they put us in felt like a greenhouse and that we were gonna die from heat exhaustion and dehydration. So we moved outside. There were other people out there and I hate that I am attune to everything going on around me so it made the experience a little lacking to say the least because of all the boring conversations the others were having. I wish I could tune it out.
My BF was keeping me busy and we enjoyed the food overall. The place is in a nice location so we took a walk after we ate. Had a nice time.
