Best WLM Reviews

This was a real treat ! The food was delicious and was served quickly.
One of the people serving us was very personable and open to conversation. I would consider him a hero to our soldiers in Afghanistan because he was an interpreter and risked his and his family’s life to help the USA.
My dad and I wanted to try Afghan food as we've seen it in social media and thought it looked delicious. Upon entry, we stood there for a while as there were no workers to seat us. Finally they came and we were seated. We immediately noticed our silverware had a red substance all over it and didn't look clean.
The waiter was very friendly and recommended a few items that we ordered. When the Chai teas came out, there was lipstick on the glasses, and they didn't appear clean. The sample appetizer left more to be desired in terms of flavor and freshness.
When the food came out, it was all cold. The wrap was cold, the meat was hard and old, and the lettuce in the wrap was slimy and spoiled. I didn't end up eating it at all.
What really shocked me was that the fries came out with ketchup and mayo all over them. They were cold and overall not good. I've never seen this, and the menu didn't specify that.
The bathroom was very dirty as well, and the sink (didn't get photos of it).
Though this was a terrible experience, I will give Afghan food a try again as I think I would've liked it had it been actually decent. The good reviews on here shock me as there was not one customer there.
This kind of my first real afgani resturants visit. Oh, the atmosphere is super beautiful. You wiil really learned a lot afganistan from this place, picture, carpet, music, food, very afgani style. If somebody wants to test real afganitani food, this shuld be the palce. More imporantly, the food is super good. I ordered half chicken tikka, which is super tendered, and really warm and flavorfull. The palce has a lot free parking spot and very close University of Virgina - 3 mintues drive. I would highly recommend this place.
This place is GREAT!!!
What a magnificent experience is when you come across a place like this, a place that feels homey and authentic. A place that carries you on a journey. To the folks complaining about the fact that it is " too quiet" you guys must be the typical Americans that go to a place to talk about your trips and your shopping and EVERYBODY has to endure your conversation.
This place is a gem!! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. The waiter is the very best waiter in Charlottesville, a very young man who is not only fast, but courteous, helpful and very respectful.
The food is OUTSTANDING.
Portions are generous.
Salad is superb, fresh, crunchy and the dressing is delicious.
Kabobs are very tasty.
Rice is superb!!
I highly recommend my new favorite restaurant in Charlottesville!!
I made the mistake of returning to this restaurant after a previous poor experience with customer service. I used to love this place—the food was great—but tonight was by far the worst experience I've had. The service was incredibly slow, and when my drink arrived, it came in a dirty glass with lipstick marks. We were a party of four, but only received three sets of silverware and three glasses. I waited patiently, but when I noticed tables that arrived after us were being served first, I decided to speak up. I told the server that I wanted to pay for the side salad I had already eaten (which was part of the meal I ordered) and leave, as I no longer wanted to wait for my food. Instead of understanding, the server argued with me, insisting I needed to wait for my meal and take it. I made it clear that I didn’t want the food anymore and just wanted to pay for what I'd consumed. To my surprise, I was told that if I didn’t want to wait for the full meal, I shouldn’t return to the restaurant. I informed them that I wouldn’t be coming back, given the repeated poor service. To top it off, I was charged $17 for a salad that was supposed to be complimentary with my meal, which I never even received. The lack of respect for customers is appalling.
Loved visiting this restaurant, the people are very humble and gracious for your dining with them. They take pride in their food and it shows in the love they put into it. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting from out of state, you won't be disappointed.
I had eaten here many years ago and remembered liking it then. I ate here tonight and it was outstanding! The food was delicious and my group enjoyed everything. We wanted to try different things so we ordered lots of stuff to share and had plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. One person with me had never been there and was very happy she got to eat there. But what is so awesome is how friendly and accommodating the staff were. Just the nicest people you could ever have to make your experience priceless! I am on a walker and they helped with all my needs. I will be going back and recommend for everyone to give them a visit. I think you’ll be very pleased. I thank everyone working there who I came in contact with. Wish I could remember the name of the sweet man I gave a hug to in appreciation!
I love this place! Whether ordering for take out or dining in! The food is always the best!!! Everything I have tried from here has been absolutely delicious! Whenever dining in, I love that it's such a calm atmosphere, and the staff is so attentive. I appreciate that they spread out the guests, it makes you feel like you have the whole place to yourself and makes the dining experience with your party more intimate. Food, service, and atmosphere all get a 5 ???? star!! If I could I would add more stars! If you're thinking of trying Afghan Kabob (cville) I would say stop thinking and GO try it!!!
