We found this place based on reviews and thought we would give it a try. Found it in a strip mall near an Exxon gas station. Don't let the sketchy strip mall location deter you.
Excellent service. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful when deciding what to order. The food was flavorful and aromatic. We were very happy with the experience.
We absolutely loved the place. Their vegan menu is huge and everything sounds delicious. I had the vegan flight (sampler platter) and loved everything on there. Their complimentary snack was wonderful, the bread was perfect, super soft and especially great with all of their different dips to it. Please note one of them is not vegan (the mint yoghurt one). Their saffron basmati rice was really delicious! My wife had the mushroom kebob and enjoyed it. This one is grilled on the same grill as meat so please be advised when you're vegan. I guess it always depends on someone's comfort level in regards to cross contamination. The entire staff was absolutely amazing, and kind! Especially Zaineb! She was very helpful and knowledgeable in regards to the vegan items as well. Definitely highly recommend.

A MUST visit place while in DC area .. I have recently been there and really amazed with a such a great vibe , variety of food options and all at a very reasonable price.
Their Lamb shank and mix platters served with rice and egg plants is delicious with a good serving size, and they serve special starter sauces with basket of bread ( a very rare find )
The host Talia serves with a big smile and always happy to serve her guests .
The food is very flavorful and good portion size. However you will spend 25-$30 pp (without drinks). The tables aren’t set up well for more than a group of four, and it feels a little cramped. Great for a two person date night though!
Amazing food! Amazing service! I am not too new to afghan food, and while I have had plants of good afghan food, this is one of my faves and always my go too if I’m willing to spend a bit more for my dinner. The staff are jovial and kind and always give great recommendations. Been here many times and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had on the menu.
This place is definitely overrated. My wife was excited to try the Qabuli Palou, but it turned out to be a huge letdown. It doesn’t come close to the authentic Afghan Qabuli Palou. As an Afghan, I strongly advise against ordering it—you’ll only end up disappointed and feel like you wasted your money. Additionally, they don't serve fresh bread; instead, they use store-bought bread and heat it in the microwave. You can see the pictures for yourself.
This Afghan restaurant was so good, I almost forgot to take a picture! The lamb was the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Huge shoutout to Aziz for the 5-star service. If you're craving authentic Afghan food, this is the place to go!

20240129 Finally tires the lamb shank!! Delicious! Dinner prices are a bit high, but the food was nicely presented and delicious! Customer service was excellent!
2022 2nd time here! Don't get the ground beef kabob. It is very meaty and tasted ok. I got the chicken eggplant with tomato cream sauce, and it was good. Looks like the dish to get is the lamb shank! So many people ordered it!! I will try that next time.
