Best WLM Reviews
Highly recommended. The staff were friendly, thoughtful and caring; very easy to talk to. I was able to make an appointment online and then called in when I needed to change it. They accommodated our request, made sure my daughter was seen that night, and then helped ensure that I picked the pharmacy that stays open late. Great care all around.
Quick and easy experience at this urgent care. I was in and out in less than 1 hr. The ability to make appointments online is great!
Leaving this review solely for the gentleman who checked me in. He was so nice and caring. Offered those of us waiting a water and genuinely wished that everyone feel better when leaving. Typically those who check you in can be very short and rude and this was the total opposite. Really appreciated when you are already feeling crappy!
I am very privileged to be living in close proximity of Urgent Care. I feel safe and secure knowing that they are there, if and when we need them. And the staff is warm and friendly and helpful. Especially the doctor’s... they are patient, insightful, knowledgeable, and have never steered me wrong. I want to give a special thanks to Dr.
Feinman... who is professional, empathetic,
Endearing, and is also lighthearted and has a great sense of humor! Bravo!!!
Arrived for urgent care at 7:06pm and they close at 8:00pm. My story:
My child came home from school after 5:00pm complaining of a sore throat again and a bad headache all day. Just went thru back to back strep throat and the feeling again like it hadn't left. With the time of 6:00pm, our Dr office was closing at that time. They recommended I call our insurance company to see where to get a strep test since it is highly contagious. I was told to go to AFC, they were the closest (40 minutes away) and they close at 8:00pm.
We arrived at 7:04pm. There were 2 ppl in the waiting room and 2 more in the back, as I was told by the girl at the front desk. The girl said we can not see your child, we are closed. I said, it is 7:06pm and you close at 8:00. The girl told me they have a lot of people so they are closed. Again, I said it was 7:06pm and there are 2 people here. Her response was, there are 2 more in the back so that's our capacity for tonight in order for us to close at 8:00pm. I didn't understand. In order to make sure you can leave at 8:00pm, you're turning down sick kids? Again, I quietly (not to embarrass my child) said, please, we feel the strep is back again and desperately need a quick 7 min strep throat test. I know it's 7 minutes because we just had 2 done. You don't close for another 50 minutes plus our insurance company told us to come here. The other woman behind the desk stood up, straightened her coat, looked at my child, looked at me and said, maam, we are at capacity to finish by 8:00pm so yes, we are turning you away! I was speechless! They were closing 50 minutes early so they didn't have to work past 8:00. Not 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or even 15 minutes, but 50 minutes early and told me to take my child to an emergency room since other urgent cares and patient firsts are not in our network. Never in my life have I met such uncaring selfish women, and one that actually straightened their coat to try to belittle me in leaving! WTH. Good thing I never feel belittled, or that could have devastated me mentally. My child unfortunately did see and hear the women turning us away, and what they said to me, so for my child, the belief in good medical care and trusting is gone, and their only a young teen. Shame on these women! This was a matter of making sure they left at 8:00, not caring in the medical profession! It's called urgent care for a reason!!! Of course we left right away to seek care somewhere else. If I could, I would give AFC in Phoenixville a negative number. They don't even deserve the 1 star. 50 minutes early. This Mom is SMH! On our way, I was calling places to see where to go and they were also saying they couldn't believe we were turned away! The 1 girl said she called a patient first in our network, and when we arrived they told me no one called and it isn't an ins network! So on top of being turned away, the one girl actually made pretend she was on the phone, so she even lied to me!!!! Completely disgraceful!
My most recent visit at AFC Urgent Care, Phoenixville was more than upsetting. It was concerning and has left me feeling worried about the community it serves; and a sense of responsibility to raise awareness in regards to what takes place at this establishment. This wasn’t my first time at AFC Urgent Care, Phoenixville, but it has by far been my worst experience. Over the years my experience has been less and less of what I expect.
There are (3) main concerns with this practice, but I’m sure more findings would be exposed through investigation. The first, is the privacy that isn’t afforded to patients at check-in. The space is so compact, which doesn’t have to be a negative thing. However, thoughtful and innovative efforts would have to be made to ensure each guest is treated with dignity and respect. I witnessed a patient humiliated because of issues with their insurance. The patient/guest was not handled with dignity and respect and more can be said about why and how they were treated the way they were.
The second, is the legitimacy of those conducting certain tasks within the practice. Further investigations are being conducted with this regard, so I will not speak anymore on this for now.
The third, and most concerning of them all is one of the doctors at this practice. This was not the first encounter I had with this doctor, but it will be the last. It is my earnest hope that I never have to visit this place again. The doctor that I’m speaking of is the most arrogant, ill-mannered, bigoted professional that I have ever encountered. Their lack of training as it relates to DEI efforts in healthcare and our society at large doesn’t surprise me, but I will no longer tolerate this type of treatment. This doctor feels very entitled to speak to and demean patients/guests in an unacceptable manner, but when it’s given back to them, they don’t know how to respond. So they whisper gossip and negative remarks about patients/guests to influence the behaviors of other staff members. This is very unfortunate, because I have experienced other friendly doctors at this location.
Again, it is my hope that I never have to return to this place. I have contacted multiple measures of accountability to look into this practice. I was exposed to biased remarks by staff members (speaking directly to me), witnessed the degradation of other patients/guests, and left with an overall icky feeling about the visit. If you feel that you have experienced any sort of malpractice at AFC Urgent Care, Phoenixville please speak up. It will really help with the measures of accountability. NO ON, and I repeat NO ONE should have to leave a medical facility feeling worse than they did about life before their visit. Especially, not the visit to Urgent Care. Silence is acceptance. Speak OUT!
We checked in at 8AM with an 8/10 pain and were told the doctor wasn’t in. By 8:35 the doctor still hadn’t seen the two people in front of us so we had no choice but to leave. They held my ID and insurance the whole time so I will have to dispute any charges. For a wait like that just go to the ER
Lovely staff, love the ability to pre-book and upload insurance info online, staff is caring and kind, very empathetic. They helped my mom with an injury a few weeks prior to my visit and she had a great experience. You can expect a bit of a delay as it is an urgent care but overall wasn’t too bad, about an hour all up.
I recently visited this urgent care after taking a nasty fall during a trail run, resulting in a deep cut on my knee that required 15 stitches. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and kind, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free.
Dr. Fineman did an outstanding job not only with the stitches but also in putting me at ease throughout the entire process. The entire staff was wonderful!
While I hope you never find yourself in need of urgent care, if you do, I highly recommend this facility. My experience was as positive as it could be given the circumstances. Thank you to everyone for your exceptional service!
