I would have to rate this location as fair. The actual care of the physician and staff was great! The nurse that I had could use a slight improvement when it comes to her bed side manner but non the less she was respectful and professional. My gripe is with the wait time. They say make a reservation online to skip the wait. I did that, I made a reservation for 1:00 pm and showed up 15 min early. I did not get seen until exactly 3 hours later. That's my only problem with this location. Maybe they need more staff I'm not sure.
I arrived right when it opened at 8am and went straight back. The nurse was super sweet and friendly and the doctor I saw was super knowledgeable and kind. She answered all my questions and truly listened to me to make sure I left with all the answers I needed.
Lady who checked us in was very sweet but the nurse who called us back acted like she didn’t want to do her job. Didn’t seem too friendly. Needs to do better with making patients feel like they actually care. Lobby was very small. Very easy to get sick because not much seating in the lobby. We decided to leave and get a refund. Went down the road to Prisma and they took great care of us.
The communication regarding my appointment was quick and easy, the staff is fantastic; helpful administrative assistants, kind nurses, doctar that didn't seem rushed and was engaged, professional and respectful. So glad to have this eatablishment in Duncan
I've been to this urgent care many times and this was the best visit ever: everyone from the receptionist to the nurse to the nurse/practitioner was so nice and we're genuinely concerned for my well being. 5 stars to everyone there! Other urgent cares should emulate.
This was my final visit to AFC on Main St in Duncan. The wait is always horrendous, regardless of circumstances. Once you finally get back to see an NP or doctor, they are attentive; however, it doesn’t compensate for the wait time. We left after an 1 hr 45 minutes of waiting. I’d would highly recommend Regional Immediate Care in front of Academy in Spartanburg if you need to be seen. We always have much better service there.
The staff was very friendly and the doc was thorough and helpful. However, I’m not sure I will go back to this location in the future. The wait time was over 2 hours before getting called back and there were only 3 people ahead of me when I arrived! The check in desk did not warn me about the wait being atleast 2 hours until someone walked up and asked what the wait time is. I certainly wasn’t expecting that wait given how few people were sitting in the waiting area and at that point I was next to be called. When I did get called back I overheard the staff talking about how slow the doctor that was there moved and him being the only provider that day was the cause of the hold up.
I get it, I work in the medical field. Wait times happen, certain docs are slower than others, but it is up to you and your staff to warn your patients coming in the building. They may choose to leave. They may stay. But that should be their choice to make. Leaving us unaware of how long the wait will be only causes more frustration and makes me feel uncomfortable returning. You can’t blame people for getting angry when you didn’t give a warning. I will likely try the Prisma location instead of AFC if I have to go back for urgent care needs in the future.
This is my go to for small medical needs. The NP and staff are very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and profesional. Facility is clean and I was seen in the order of arrival. I highly recommend for walk-in visits.
