I was in quite a bit of discomfort and elected to reserve a time in hopes of speeding up the process. I also completed the application online. When I arrived, the receptionist kindly acknowledged me and shared her appreciation for my online application. I paid my copay and patiently waited which was for all of ten minutes (due to my online reserve a time request). Within a short time, I had met with the CNA and nurse practitioner, had the results of my tests and received a necessary injection and had a prescription sent to the appropriate pharmacy. Each person was knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. The nurse practitioner was truly amazing and would recommend her with no hesitation. Her medical expertise and people skills are impeccable.
We came for a vaccine series that could only be completed here. The first few appointments were okay, but I did have to teach the nursing staff how to address Latinos with the double last name. We came a day ago and my child was called by the wrong name, both first and last. When corrected, the NP laughed and said “it doesn’t matter it’s all the same”. She then went back to the waiting room and called the other parent and child by our last name. When I mentioned it to the attending nurse she stated” well you’re getting your shot now and that’s all that matters now”. I explained to her how important it is to be called by the right name and got no response. When finished she gave my daughter a “sponge bob” bandage and while massaging the spot of the injection, stated “now that didn’t hurt you did it “. My daughter said nothing but later told me that it had hurt her.
The care here from the initial phone call began and ended as culturally insensitive care. I have had a similar experience at another location. I write this public comment so that leadership will pay attention and encourage cultural norms that embrace all races, ethnicities, genders, creeds, and religion like your documents express. Unless confronted and challenged, nothing will change.
I expect better, especially since you are affiliated with Bon Secours St. Francis.
Very efficiently run and such friendly staff - both nurses that helped me were simply amazing and so comforting. The doctor I saw was very knowledgeable, kind, and wasn’t trying to rush me out of the room - she truly wanted to hear everything I had to say in order to diagnose correctly. Highly recommend!
I had an okay experience here. The medical assistant (has short brown hair) was very rude. She told me because I added shortness of breath in addition to the persistent cough, I could not be treated here. I expressed I maybe misunderstood the term of shortness of breath and wanted my main complaint to be a persistent cough. She rolled her eyes and stomped out of the room. The NP Kelly and the x-ray tech were nice and caring. I’m glad I spoke up because my x-ray showed I had pneumonia. I didn’t need to go to the ER and get a CT scan like the medical assistant thought. I’d recommend the NP talking with the patients before having the medical assistant making medical recommendations.
Found myself in need of urgent medical assistance late Sunday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service I received. The staff was quick, knowledgeable, and efficient, making the experience much smoother than I anticipated. Highly recommend!
The staff are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Took the time to make sure all my needs were met and provided excellent care. The receptionist kept me informed of wait time; the nurse was extremely attentive and friendly; and the Nurse Practioner was professional and compassionate. Received excellent care and detailed post-op instructions. Highly recommend.
Quick and curtious service. However when I called back the next day to say I didn't feel much better and ask for cough medicine, which was called in immediately, I also ask for another day be added to my doctors note since I was not improving as quickly as expected, I was refused unless I came back in to be treated. I was just seen the previous day so that seemed ridiculous and money hungry. How hard is it to change a number on a letter?
For that reason I will never go back.
Kellie Thompson NURSE practitioner is extremely rude, when I asked her why was she being so mean she stormed off and said leave you’re creating a hostile environment and I was actually nice; I just wanted good service and more information as I should be entitled to because without patients You guys don’t get business right!?! I was confused because the whole staff was hostile, they didn’t even want to give me a supervisor or higher up number. I was refused service, and was only there to get a urinalysis in which I had insurance and cash I shouldn’t have been refused at all! They treated me horrible like I asked them to operate on me or something it was very weird. One lady told me if I got labs most insurance didn’t cover it and I would get billed $700, which was also weird because how would you know what I can pay or my insurance when u haven’t even checked what insurance I have. Definitely wouldn’t take my kids or family in there at all. Waiting rooms was filthy and lots of hipaa violations going on as well. I mean I have never ever witnessed anything like this place at all! Never seen a nurse come talk to a person and be extremely mean then tell a patient they are creating a hostile environment.
