Best WLM Reviews
The staff were amazing and the service was great! The front desk was so sweet to us and rooms were very clean. They also allowed us to have our two, well behaved dogs, which is so appreciated.
However, they only receive two stars because the price you pay is so high for the quality. We paid $200 and it was not worth it. They tack on an additional price for dogs as a "cleaning fee" which is insane because you know that extra money is not going to the cleaning crew for the additional work, its just another fee they know they can get away with. No place to walk your dogs outside and dogs aren't allowed in their outdoor sitting place, so not really "pet friendly".
The room and building were so outdated, even for the "budget" price. The side door was damaged and did not lock so anyone could come in the hotel. The door to our room had a huge gap under the door and the room walls are so thin you can hear everything going on. People came and went all night, so not really a restful place. The sink had a crack in it. Window was covered in dead bugs. Stains on the sheets and floors. The towel ripped when used.
Overall, fine place to stay but not worth the insane price they charged. Wouldn't do it again.
Should have taken pics. Floors were stained with the unknown. Walls are thin and can hear most conversations. The gap underneath the door needs help. Rooms are really, really outdated. Breakfast is not so great, like put together as cheaply as possible. We paid $200 for the night because they were the cheapest in town. The room shouldn't have been more than 60/80 dollars. Honestly, I should have spent the extra 50 for a jump up in a better hotel. The bed/mattress was the best part of the room. The AC unit ran but made the room feel swampy cause it didn't work for crap. Dirty towels or stained. The staff was actually really nice and in my raiting is the only thing that deserves 4 stars.
BEDBUGS. We booked a pet friendly room and were only in it for around 2 hours, tucked in and about to go to sleep. That's when I noticed a little black bug on the bright white pillow. I quickly spied another one on the underside of the pillow. My girlfriend and I freaked out and pulled back the covers to find several more distinctly black tiny bugs crawling around on the bed.
We inspected more closely and saw tiny brownish mite sized bugs crawling around the white sheets. It was clearly an infestation. The clerk on duty thankfully moved us to another room. We thought about bailing completely but it was after midnight and prospects for finding another hotel looked tough. The new room appeared to be bug free so we showered, put all our clothes in a trash bag, and hoped for the best.
Since coming home, we've had to go through all the precautions which has been quite a pain. We threw out the dog bed to be safe. After just a short time on the bed, I now have red welts showing up all over my body a day later. Probably 20+ bites and more appearing.
I've stayed in plenty of dodgy hotels and hostels over the years, but thankfully have never - until now - dealt with this issue. We paid $230 for this room which was in mediocre shape and had the look of a budget hotel. For the price, this is unacceptable. I never post reviews but think folks should know what they may be walking into. If you decide to book here, put all your stuff in the bathtub and closely inspect the bed and furniture before diving in. Lesson learned.
I was pretty worried over the reviews, however this was the only place that wasn't charging $400/night in town. Still though, the owners should probably be in jail for charging as much as they were. Outside of that the rooms were nicer than I was expecting based on the reviews... I mean it is a budget hotel, the hallways smell funky and have their 80s carpet. However the room was clean, the beds were clean, not my favorite cleaner scent but it was clean, recently repainted/floored, the AC works well, and made enough noise to drown out the downstairs guests who were having a half inside half outside hang out party through their window (I'm a light sleeper so that AC was a life saver). There was a person at the desk to help me check in. The breakfast was sparse but looks like they had some burritos and breakfast sandwiches in the fridge, a spread of bagels and muffins, and some oranges were out with juice and coffee options..
Long story short. This place is a little rough on the edges, a little sketchy. But on the inside it's got what you need for a comfortable night sleep, I've stayed at much worse. would I stay here again? Not if they keep charging these prices. But I'd definitely come back if it was like $100 a night. The other reviews are from prissy Karens.
This place is awful! We first walked into our room with lights not working. After stumbling around in the dark, we finally found some lamps.Grungy bathroom and stained carpet throughout the building. The hot tub is outside in the gathering area snd it was suspect. Garbage around the sides and back of building. Room smelled like sewage in the morning when everyone was showering. The price was way too high for s hotel of this low quality but I guess location is everything. The only good part was the friendly and polite young lady at the desk. To sum it up: Gross! Stay elsewhere!
Decent place to stay with a fair price. The location is great if you’re staying and planning to do things in Glenwood! The rooms are ok, a little sketchy and the walls are paper thin…we could hear everything, and I mean everything (be careful with the kiddos staying here if you know what I mean)
As far as the service goes, the front desk attendants were extremely nice however the housekeeping staff could have been better…me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and not once did the housekeeping ladies clean our room. They knocked on our door twice the whole time we were there and both times around 8:30-9 am. We told them to come back later please because we were hardly in the room during the day as we had multiple adventures planned and usually didn’t come back to our room until the late evening and every time we came back the room was never cleaned. Not a big deal but it would’ve been nice just for some fresh towels and an empty trash can.
All in all, decent and cheap place to stay in Glenwood although there probably is much better places that may be worth it to spend a little extra for a better place to stay. If you’re just looking for a place to spend the night I would recommend.
Lackluster plug location and quantity, had to sorta prop our chargers up with the backside of the bed so they wouldn't fall out. And it was the lamps or the chargers, couldn't have both.
Other than that, the bed was huge, clean, and comfy. Ac unit kept the room cool all night, and the shower was plenty warm.
My dog and I stayed there for a few nice. The staff was incredibly kind and understanding of my needs. The chilled water on tap was the best thing I've seen. Not a ton of things to do that are walkable but we managed to stay busy for two nights.
Also, good luck with the dominos that delivers here. Delivery takes forever to get but good food.
