Unfortunately, after waiting in the lobby for almost an hour for my first appointment, I threw in the towel and left having never been called back to see the dentist.
The front desk employees were rude and unhelpful on the phone and in person.
Booking an appointment I found difficult. It took me calling 4 times and having to call my own dental insurance because the front desk person wasn’t willing to check if they took my insurance.
Day of 1st appointment: I checked in 20 minutes early with all of my paperwork filled out prior to the appointment. The girl who checked me in was very short with me and had a cold. I sat in the lobby until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. While sitting there I saw 2 “walk-in” patients check-in for unscheduled appointments. When I walked up to inquire what was going on, I was told that they called me that morning to cancel my appointment. I wish I would have know that at the time of check-in and not after 50 minutes of sitting there waiting.
I work in Portland and was in a meeting that morning and didn’t see the missed call. I went directly from the meeting and drove through traffic to the appointment. It was a waste of my time and fuel because following that appointment I had to drive back to Portland.
While driving off upset, I called Wolfe Dental and they got me in as a new patient 2 days later. They gave warm and welcoming service. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t receive that at Advantage Dental.
This was a level of compassion and care for my well-being that I have literally never experienced before. Thank you to the wonderful staff, I was in so much pain. I wish I could remember the ladies name at the front desk. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless her for her compassion and Dr. Chin for being so professional and delicate and to get me out of pain first time ever in there they never seen me before and I was treated like family . Thank you, advantage dental for hiring such excellent compassionate people
My husband broke his front tooth right before Thanksgiving. They were able to get him in right away to see Dr Chen, who gave us a wonderful experience. He bonded the tooth and it looks better than the original. Highly recommend!
When getting my examination the dentist & scribe ma were arguing the whole time. I feel it’s embarrassing if the Dr calls out the scribe ma during a pt visit for not being on the same pace. The dr was going a bit fast during the visit. I understood the Dr has a lot of pts to see but thats not right. The dr was polite to me but was rude to the ma. I feel theres a time & a place to address these situations not in front of a pt.
I went there for my severe tooth ache, was waiting on the appointment for about three months. The day I got there, Dr. HAWES looked at my teeth and she concluded that there is nothing wrong with my teeth. My wisdom tooth is literally shattered in half and any ordinary person would be able to see that I am not able to bite properly and hit the nerve when I eat. But she said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth and did not even bother doing anything to help me with my severe pain. Don't go here.
My mother has been using Advantage Dental as her primary dental care provider for several years, and she is very satisfied. Despite not speaking English fluently, she feels genuinely cared for by the dentists and staff. Recently, she had her upper dentures done, and although it took some time, she is now happy with the results. Thank you to everyone at Advantage Dental, we truly appreciate your good service.
It was my first time visiting this dental office, and my last. I went in for a chipped front tooth. Only reason I went to this location (40+min drive mind you) was because it was the only advantage dental that had the soonest availability, and took my insurance. First time having dental bonding for a chipped tooth. I explained this on the phone when booking my appointment and in person. The dental assistant and dentist were surprised that I was there for dental bonding—while in the chair to be examined. The dentist (although seemingly nice) was very stressed out, and frustrated because he was overbooked and didn’t expect to have multiple patients at once (which I could understand completely, but also out of my control.) He seemed super frustrated, irritated, and rushed throughout my dental bonding, which resulted in a crappy dental bond. Color and shape were off, and when I mentioned this, he seemed annoyed to have to fix it. Mind you, I was his last patient for the day. He begrudgingly fixed what he could. I didn’t mention anything else because I knew he was ready to leave. He didn’t tell me how to care for the tooth or anything after, just told me he was done and I could leave. While I understand his frustration with the miscommunications of his office, I’m also left feeling like he did a rushed job and acted unprofessional. This is my first time fixing a chipped tooth, and it’s my front top tooth at that. It’s not like a bad haircut that can just grow back...I’m so disappointed. I’m now looking elsewhere to correct the mishap.
I hate my hygienist lady. I forgot her name, but I do not understand the reasoning of things she does. She's only throughly clean my whole entire mouth 1 time in a single visit. When I got scheduled for a scaling/deep clean, she proceeded to only do 1 side of my mouth... and scheduled me 6 MONTHS OUT to do the other half???? With this far out of an appointment, what even is the point?
Not only that, but I've never been so bruised up and in pain after a scaling/deep clean. It was the most intensive deep clean I've gotten. I went ahead got new insurance so I didn't have to suffer bottom of the care OHP services. I wish I remember my hygienest name, but my God I'll never go back because of her. They always scheduled me with her and I hate it !
