Best WLM Reviews

A local friend of mine recommended Apollos. This place is on Frenchmen Street right next to The Spotted Cat, so perfect place to eat dinner right before going to listen to jazz music. I must say the atmosphere is a little dingy, and it smelled weird as soon as we went upstairs to the restaurant, but what made up for all that was the really great food and excellent service. Wine was weird, but great food. We had chicken Parmesan and cannelloni. We would definitely go again!
This place could be so much better. The server was quick to our table but not very observant. We ran out of water several times and tried to call her over but she was talking to the bartender instead. We ordered wine and were surprised the only housewives of all a very inexpensive brand that were all quite jammy
The pasta came out very quickly with a lot of cheese on top and sauce. However after starting it we discovered it was very watery. Tried again to call the waitress over and it took a while for her to understand we needed her to come back to the table. They brought a second sent of pasta that was also very watery.
The main entrees came out and the chicken parmesan was excellent! Very tender, a very generous size portion with a massive amount of buffalo mozzarella cheese. I ordered the special of the day that was a lack of lambs. At 8 bones that was awesome very generous. However I wish the sauce had not been so thin. The sauce was very flavorful but apparently the chef likes making thin sauces. Given th number of amazing restaurants in the city , we will probably not go back anytime soon
Absolutely loved this restaurant! After four days in the French Quarter, eating “Cajun “food, this came as a pleasant end to our trip. The typical New Orleans food was decent, but this restaurant was packed with flavor, fun, a fantastic atmosphere, and overall great food. They’re only about 10 tables in this second-story dining experience, making it cozy and warm. We were given this recommendation by a local and they were spot on. It’s also on the north side of the French Quarter where you have awesome jazz Bars and clubs. Recommended.
This was probably one of the best meals I had while staying in New Orleans. We did veal parmigiana, rack of lamb, escargot and the steak bruschetta. Not one thing dissapointed. It was so fresh. I wish I had time to come back a second time.
We were fortunate to get a recommendation to this hidden gem on Frenchman from a local artist. There is literally about ten tables, and they don't take reservations, so it's recommended to get there when they open. For an appetizer, we ordered the mussels. They were delicious! For entrees, we had the steak special with Ocean Sauce (creole based) and the Veal Ocean (veal, crabmeat, crawfish, and capers) in a croele sauce ---literally couldn't stop eating it! Did not order dessert, but observing from other nearby tables, it looked outstanding! It was one of the top meals we had while visiting! Highly recommend!
The best food I have eaten in my entire life. Local spot. Amazing portions and service. No reservations accepted, cash only, opens at 5. Get there early. No better food can be had. Huge portions. Single stove establishment , entrees cooked to order. Ocean sauce is legendary.
It's been years since I dined here. My first time here was on a date in 2000. The food was phenomenal. Paired with the eclectic vibe and feeling like we stepped into a Spaniards living room, local art adorned the walls with low lighting and bustling chatter. There wasn't another table empty. I would return here on every one of my frequent trips and become friends with Adolfo himself. He was a great conversationalist and had amazing world views. I found out a few days ago that he is no longer with us. Although I was starving when I walked in, my sadness with this news affected my appetite. I got the same thing I had when I first came here. The seafood sauce over sole with salad. Skipped drink. Great service and lively vibe. This place is a hidden gem. You can feel comfortable and relax with your meal. Great location on Frenchmen also.
This was a phenomenal dining experience. The ambiance is an authentic, quaint, although small restaurant. The food was hot, ample and the seafood was substantive. Everything that Blue Bayou on Canal wasn’t last night (see my review from earlier today), Adolfos made up for this evening. It was less expensive, I’m full and satisfied.
