Admirals D Waterfront Tavern offers a great vibe and atmosphere, especially with the beautiful waterfront view. The energy of the place is just right, making it a perfect spot to relax during sundown or have a chat with friends. The waiters were very attentive, which added to the positive experience. However, the food menu was quite limited and nothing really caught my eye, although I did notice a lot of people ordering the hamburger. The drinks were good, but quite pricey at $40 for two cocktails. Overall, it's a cool place to hang out, but be prepared for the high prices.
We’re sitting at Admiral D’s now, 4th tons this summer, they remember my order now! Menu is new and improved, service, as always, is on point, and despite the tiny kitchen, we’ve gotten our food quickly all 4 visits this summer. We’re listening to live music, and the breeze of the lake is fantastic, making it really pleasant despite high temps today. I can’t recommend this place enough. I haven’t read other reviews, but know in previous years there could be quite a wait for food. But we’ve always been loyal because I’d go for friendly service over fast any day and Admiral D’s has always had that.
Just there last Thursday. Waited 1 1/2 hours for food. It was not crowded at all. I ordered the Club sandwich on whole wheat. It came on sourdough, no mayo or other dressing and no bacon even though menu stated bacon. The view was beautiful and the weather perfect otherwise we would have left. Inexcusable wait and mediocre food.
Awesome views with great small plate options!! Caprese salad and fish tacos were a 10/10. Highly recommend!
We had the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant! We ordered drinks which were fine and came out after a bit. But then after waiting over 25 minutes to order food, we then proceeded to wait an hour for food which never came. During that time no one checked in with us and we watched as other tables came and went. Finally our tacos came, but they were cold! We were also told that they didn’t know where our other food was. At this point (after being there for an 1.5 hours and no waitress in site), we gave up. I had to go up to the kitchen/bar and request they cancel our food. Turns out they sent it to the wrong table. No apologies. Nothing. We then tried to pay our drinks bill and were AGAIN ignored for 10+ minutes.
View is great, drinks are good, food sucks (if you even get it), and they are way too understaffed. Do not go.
The food was good, not great, but good. Burger was typical, and somewhat under seasoned. Fries were crispy and hot, so that made up for it. Onion rings were also bland, and would have benefited from some additional type of dipping sauce. Salad was just ok. However, overall good experience on the patio. Great views of the lake, and was pleasant to hang out. Server was attentive and friendly. Also enjoyed the live music that was going on. Keep in mind that you are paying a premium for the atmosphere.
Went to meet friends to plan a girls weekend, I ordered ceviche, no description on menu, it was disgusting, to say the least. It was squares of something, waiter said it some type of sea water fish, it was soaked in what looked to be salsa from a jar, and it taste like vinegar, nothing fresh about it. It was gross..sent it back, didn't want to pay for it but there was not a manager there to approve it. I still want my money back.
Great atmosphere and servers were good. I love sitting by the lake. They got my dog some water which was so great! The problem was I ordered a turkey club. What I got was a BLT with 2 thin slices of turkey and it was dry and blah. Do you see turkey? It’s on the left. “Remember the commercial “where’s the beef?” Look at the last turkey sandwich picture. That’s how it should look!! I found the beef! Or actually turkey but at a different restaurant.
