I cracked a bad tooth on a Sunday. On Wednesday, my dentist referred me to an oral surgeon. The first referral couldn’t see me until February, so I asked for my referral to be sent to Adirondack Oral Surgery instead. They were more affordable, empathetic, and their team worked hard to get me in. My tooth was pulled by Friday!
Key Takeaways:
1. You Need a Referral: No exceptions. This might be tough for some, but I was lucky to have a great dentist who got me in quickly.
2. Scheduling Team: The scheduling staff was amazing and compassionate. Though it took 15 minutes to get through, it was worth the wait. I explained that I’d be paying out of pocket, and they carefully went over all costs and options. Here’s a breakdown of details.
Panoramic X-ray & Consult: ~$220
Tooth Extraction (not a molar): ~$375
Anesthesia (optional): ~$500 extra
They even called me back with a next-day appointment for both the consult and extraction, though they were clear that any additional discussion of future work would require a new appointment. No surprises at all!
3. During the Procedure:
The assistant stayed with me the entire time.
The surgical area was clean, well-equipped, and prepared for complications.
I opted out of anesthesia and chose novocaine due to cost. The doctor explained everything patiently and worked quickly while minimizing discomfort. While the numbing shots weren’t fun, the procedure itself was painless, though a bit awkward due to the tooth’s condition.
4. Follow-Up:
The surgeon explained post-op care thoroughly, and I received detailed written instructions. He even thanked me for being patient.
Total cost: ~$600 (without anesthesia).
I hope this review eases some anxiety about the process, especially regarding costs and what to expect. I’ll definitely be returning for planned future work. Thank you Adirondack Oral Surgery.
The surgeon was really cool. He was very thorough and helpful and made me feel very very comfortable with the procedure I am having! I was pretty nervous because I’m having The biggest procedure of my life done on my mouth and when I left there I felt 100% better!! They don’t Talk to you like you are just another patient, Make you feel like you are family and I think that’s really great, Especially because I have Medicaid and most doctors treat you as less of a person and rush you out But not with them. I highly recommend the Adirondack oral Clifton Park office (the only location I’ve been to of theirs) Over any other company!!! Instead of dreading this procedure I am now completely looking forward to it!! THANK YOU Adirondack oral!!
I had put off my wisdom teeth removal for years because I am terrified of having teeth pulled due to a horrible experience as a teenager. Yesterday I had all 4 taken out at the same time under general anesthesia.
I am SO glad that I went here, everyone from the receptionists to the assistants and the dental surgeon/dentist were absolutely AMAZING! They were very patient and understanding, explained what they were going to do and assured me I wouldn’t remember or feel anything, this was 100% true; I don’t remember or have felt a thing during the procedure. I have minimal swelling or pain that isn’t manageable with the pain medication they prescribed. It’s the day after the surgery now and I was already able to drop the heavy painkillers they gave me as it’s not needed anymore. They made sure to thoroughly explain the aftercare procedures which I am following to the letter (which makes all the difference). I 100% recommend them for any oral surgery! Thank you so much!!
Pleasant quick and painless experience. Anesthesia didnt last long at all after i woke up which was quite fine! Nurses and doctor were extremely kind and helpful with answering any and all questions i had. This was my first major kind of surgery in general so i was very scared and nervous so im glad everyone was so kind! Would absolutely go back for anything!
I waited to get my wisdom teeth out for ten years because of my INSANE fear of being put under. When my tooth started hurting really bad, I called them on an emergency whim and they got me in within the week. I was so scared on my way and when I arrived. The doctors (dentists? Nurses? Idk) were so wildly kind. The one girl who did all my intake once I got into the room was phenomenal and the doctor made me feel so much better. When I got into the room originally, my heart rate was 145 and my blood pressure was so quite high. By the time they were actually doing the IV, all my numbers were normal due to all the staff being so good with my anxiety. He started casual conversation about my travel plans and next thing I knew I was awake and leaving to go home. I am now on day 2 of recovery and the recovery is so much easier than I’d assumed it would be. I have only taken ibuprofen twice in the past 32 hours since the extraction on a very impacted tooth. I am so grateful for this establishment and the staff within. Thank you.
Dr Lassetter was recommended to me by my Dentist. I had an issue with a tooth that had a root canal years ago that seemed to have failed. After an initial visit, I came back to have my tooth extracted so I could eventually start the process of having an implant placed. The extraction was done very fast despite my tooth being in poor shape. Dr. Lassetter seems like a great doctor who gave me the opportunity to ask questions and provided detail on exactly what was going to happen (which meant a lot because I've always had a hard time going to the dentist). The procedure went extremely fast and despite hearing some pretty crazy sounds (that I was warned about), I didn't feel a thing. I'm recoving well and have had very minimal bleeding. If you're pushing off having oral surgery for whatever reason, you really have nothing to fear - Dr. Lassetter was awesome. The team that helped him was great too! I've had fillings that were 100 times worse than this!
I brought my 17 yr old yesterday to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. The process was seamless, the staff were great and explained everything so well. Dr. Lassiter was wonderful, he really went the extra mile to make my daughter feel comfortable. All 3 of my kids had their wisdom teeth out here, all 3 experiences were excellent!
Dr. Lasseter is friendly and puts me at ease. He is thorough and procedures begin on time--great for my busy schedule.
He takes time to explain the procedure, as do all members of his staff which assisted in my oral surgery.
DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Lasseter and Adirondack Oral & Maxilofacial Surgery for extraction of teeth (including wisdom teeth), dental implants, etc.!
