Adelitas is perfect! Seated promptly by an experienced person, immediately served water and asked to help, hot chips (really) and salsa to die for, on the spot. Perfect! We had tamales, huevos Mexicana, and Chilaquiles and although very spicy with jalapeños each was prepared skillfully and very tasty. If I could change anything it would be to reduce the jalapeños so you could taste all the intricate flavors in every dish. You can’t beat this food. A suggestion is chicken enchiladas with half mole -half green sauce as a main dish after the taquitos appetizer. It’s noisy, the food is hot, it’s busy, but it’s perfect! You will return… soon!
I've visited Adelitas a handful of times, and each visit has been a 10/10! Consistently amazing food and wonderful service--this place truly serves up some of the best tacos in Denver.
Their Taco Tuesday special is incredible - flavor-packed tacos starting at $2. I usually order 4-8 tacos. They are so good! They offer their taco special all day, so it's perfect for lunch, dinner, or even both if you're really feeling it. They also have a "Taco of the Week" special available after 4 or 5 PM, so if you come in the evening ask what they are offering, it's always delicious!
My top three tacos are the Al Pastor, Carnitas, and the Lengua. The beef tongue taco (Lengua) is incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the Al Pastor and Carne Asada are packed with authentic flavors that really stand out. The Shrimp Avocado taco is also always spot-on, with fresh ingredients and a great balance of flavors.
And don’t skip dessert! The sopapillas are good, but the tres leches cake is amazing! It's so rich, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness to finish off your meal. I highly recommend it! If you are too full to enjoy it there, take it to go. That cake might be better than the tacos....
Parking can be a bit challenging. There's a small lot on Broadway just a couple of doors down, but I recommend parking on Lincoln or Sherman and walking over for easier in-and-out access.
Adelitas is my top recommendation whenever friends come to town--great food, affordable prices, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. If you're craving authentic tacos, this spot should be at the top of your list!
Adelita's has always been a great spot, but the addition of some of these delicious cocktails has kicked things up a notch! I enjoy seeing what's new on the menu and all of the thought and care that's put into each drink. And they're almost too beautiful to drink! (Almost...) Great job Christina and team!
This outing was underwhelming relative to prior visits. The chips were mostly broken and the salsa was too watery. The queso was sizzling hot but we couldn’t taste the chorizo. The carne asada tasted delicious but the texture was a bit tough. When we finished eating, I noticed everyone in our party of six had only eaten half of their entree. The service was out of sync and we found ourselves waiting multiple times for our requests to be met.
This was a wonderful find! It is hidden a bit but there is parking. The food was bomb! Had both carne asada & chicken wipes- they rocked! The place is super clean. The bartender & drinks were on point! I will be returning:)
This review is specifically based on the bathroom and NOT service or food.
The bathroom was a little dirty with random trash on the floor. The toilet dispenser was empty with a random roll on top of the dispenser. One of the two toilet stalls also had trash.
The feminine products were a nice touch and I am glad they have paper towels but overall, it might be a good idea to have a staff member check up on the bathroom every couple of hours or so to tidy up.
Absolutely loved the tacos and drinks here. Perfect spot for taco Tuesday. Highly recommend the carne asada tacos and al pastor tacos (loved the carne asada so much that I got 3 of them).
Also definitely recommend the Coco Morado cocktail (tequila ocho blanco, coconut, guava, lavender) and the aloe margarita (Cimarron blanco, fresh lime, aloe liqueur).
Delish food, great atmosphere, and a local favorite. Which was highly recommended to us by a local. Good prices, too.
