Best WLM Reviews
The worst Ethiopian food I have ever had i my life. The worst injera I have ever eated in my life. Total cost me almost $80.00. He gave me chicken tibs, as doro WAT. This was not WAT, this was chicken tibs. I’m sad to say, this absolutely NOT Ethiopian food. This is someone who is trying to make Ethiopian food, but doesn’t know how. When I was 7 years old, I can make better beets and gomen... Even the salad was wrong. The only thing edible was sambusas, but the lentils were still hard and raw. It’s under new management. I came with short notice, they made the food quickly. Injera was very dry, the tea was bad was under seasoned and weak, the vegetables are absolutely terrible. I use to work and here and know the previous owner. The menus were dirty. The new manager is a sweet guy, he’s very nice and friendly, he’s a great host, I really like him. But he ripped me off, fed me trash food, I had a friend with me. I tried to handle it respectfully and nicely with the manager, I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but I thought about how I spent $80.00 on really disgusting beets and nasty collard greens. Worst restaurant food experience of my life. I spent $80.00. ($76.00). I wish I could get a refund. Don’t ever come here (I had to say something.) I couldn’t have had good quality food somewhere else but I wanted show my Nigerian friend my culture. It was extremely embarrassing and the restaurant made me very ashamed. According to my Nigerian friend, the fufu was lumpy and cooked wrong. Imagine being embarrassed of your culture because someone presented it badly. ????????$76.00 he gave us crunchy dry injera! It scratched my throat and I kept coughing. This food was mostly garbage food. The beef and chicken was dry . He made FAJITAS! This is the food your uncle or dad makes you when mom is not home, he learned from his wife or something, but you lie to him and tell him it’s good because you don’t want to hurt his feelings. Whoever made this can’t cook, and is a very rude and disrespectful person. Dry injera?? DRY INJERA??????????? Dry beef and chicken? Tomato sauce in doro wat?? Where is the Berbere and kibe? Chicken breast doro wat bro???? It was dark black injera and the outside was crunchy the corners were stale. ????????????????????????????????⁉️❓❓❓❓???????????????????????????? why did they break my heart idk why.
Loved the food!!! Great customer service too. Traditional coffee was so awesome.
Had a great time. The atmosphere is so friendly! I felt like I was in Ethiopia! The food was absolutely delicious! The owner, Ben treated me like family!
Food is plentiful, authentic, and delicious. A Vegetable combo (feeds 2-3 people) is only $17.99. Hidden gem is well worth the visit.
Best spot in Phoenix AZ !! They have the best food, best customer service, and best hospitality! They will treat you like you’re their own family and then some. This place will give you the best taste of Africa and make you feel like you’re at home. Love this restaurant.
Omg the food was so delicious. Thank you to the owner for making or experience the best. And they have a really nice place where hookah and outside sitting is available. The food was so good ????
What they get right: The food is fantastic. I tried the Veggie Combo and the Sambuso, 2 meat (beef) & 2 veggie (lentils), and they were very satisfying. You use this bread, that kinda looks like a pancake but with a softer texture, to pick out the items on a plate of the same bread and eat what you are craving. The tea is also enjoyable.
What they get wrong: Where is the parking? If I wasn't looking for this place I might have missed it. You have to park in the back and enter the restaurant in the back. It's warm in that place. I checked the temperature, and it was 85 degrees. The lights for the bathrooms were dim.
What's okay: Restrooms were not pristine but not dirty. Restaurant set up feels confusing.
Results: Eat the food, especially try the Sambusos (Only $.99 cents each and they are delicious), but spare yourself the oppressive temperature inside and the lack of seating space by ordering your meal to go. And tip your server well; my server when I asked if tips go to the server or to the house said that the only get paid with tips (Isn't that illegal?).
The food was delicious and they now have more variety Africa food on the menu. First time trying Goat Pilau “Swahili food” and wow it was delicious, chapati and sambusa was great as well. I use to just get amaze tibs with Enjera but like the different foods on the new menu.
The service was awesome and the staff working at this restaurant super nice. This place has changed a lot in terms of service, taste and cleanliness. I have been coming here for over 3 years and the changes are pleasing and noticeable. Now they are using door dash and grub hub this is really good and convenient. Keep it up! I recommend this place to everyone who likes to try different but great foods.
