Good food, not too bad for sure, but it was cold
Costumer service needs to be better.
This restaurant has a lot of potential, but the owners need to take more care and try to have better food quality.
(The rice on the gumbo tasted old)
I got chopped brisket and a half rack of pork ribs. The brisket was dry, which I could overlook but the pork ribs were incredibly pink. I called and spoke to a nice cashier but the manager or who ever it was incredibly rude, insisting that it was just the smoke ring. Look at the photos that’s not a smoke ring!! That’s raw meat. He said he’s been doing this for 22 years, so he’s obviously been doing it wrong this whole time. No wonder this place doesn’t have great reviews. Coleslaw was bone dry. Jokes on me for giving them a second chance. Also, he said to take the issue up with DoorDash. As if!! They have anything to do with how the meat is cooked!!!!
I've only been once, but our experience was exceptional. Lots to choose from, including mains/meats and sides; everything reasonably priced. Service was very friendly, helpful. We got a variety of items -- some better than others, but all quite good, so no complaints. All the bbq sauces kept things interesting (hefeweizen and pumpkin were awesome). Definitely recommend getting the combos and sharing, so you're not married to any one thing.
First time here. I usually grade in three areas. Atmosphere, service and food.
Atmosphere.
First thing arriving to the area realized there is a limit amount of parking. Older section of Salem so angle parking is in front of businesses. I enjoyed the quaint building, inside and outside. Inside was clean and well maintained.
Staff.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Food.
Not the best not the worst. I've read all the reviews from best to worst. The pros I found was even though the brisket was not chopped but pulled is not a big deal to me. I found the beef tender and juicy. Not dry or overly saturated with juice. I am probably one of weird ones but I don't mind a little bit fat. It's how I do mine. Con was it really lack seasoning. I was expecting some SPG season but didn't found any. Seasoning helps compliment the flavor profile.
The sausage was ok. Not sure who they use as a supplier but it has the same flavor as something you find in a store. I liked it but it didn't wow me.
The pork ribs. Had 3 bones and I cut the first rib to see the smoke ring. Very faint smoke ring. Very low smoke flavor in the rib.Not sure what kind of wood they are using. I noticed the rub was wet and clumpy. So the bark on the rib I could wipe off with my finger. That's was disappointing. Not sure what rub they are using but it also lack flavor. Ribs were just the right amount of tender. Not fall off the bone but has that little bit of pull from the bone.
Coleslaw, Beans and rice and sweet corn muffin. Coleslaw I enjoy. Not overly wet or drowning in dressing. The beans and rice loved it. Had some spice with a hint of sweet. Then corn muffin was dry and had to much salt for my taste.
I know BBQ is subjective. I judge based on my 30 year of BBQing, tasting BBQ across this nation and as I certified BBQ judge.
I think Adams Rib could be better with a few fixes. I know having consistent food in a restaurant is difficult so I wish good luck
Visited August 19, 2024. Place was clean but no customers around lunch time. Ordered a full rack of ribs. Must have small cows out here. Girl said the meat is tender and comes right of the ribs.
What meat there was as it was mostly fat was dry and had to be pulled off. I would never eat here. Parking is a hassle and it's just too over priced.
Such a cute little place! Their food was super good and honestly so good priced for the quality. 10/10 Would recommend and definitely coming back. ☺️ Super friendly,
I had the 2 meat platter with kielbasa and pulled pork with potato salad and Macncheese. Also the cutest outdoor seating area
Me and my wife love this place;good food and great customer service everytime we visit. I feel so welcomed in everytime I come for a visit. The BBQ just hits so well,and I'm left with fully bellies and happy smiles.
Solid food! I actually went twice in one day due to some funny circumstances with a friend meetup. From its name, to its hours (closed Sundays) to the music they play, this place unabashedly exudes its religiosity. Their food is good. Not perfect, but good. For lunch I had a brisket sandwich. Perfect roll, 7.5/10 brisket. The brisket was really moist in some places and super dry in other places. The coleslaw is fantastic as are the corn muffins. For dinner I had a few ribs along with some mac and cheese and more coleslaw. The ribs were good, but again perhaps lacking the moistness that I'd hope for (they were a little chewy). The mac and cheese was solid, and while not the best I've had, it was a very good accompaniment to the ribs. Friendly service and decently fair pricing – perhaps a little on the steep side. Lastly, I'll remark on their sauces. They're fantastic. Lots of choice. You'll need them for the meat to add moisture.
