I generally like Acme, and the staff there are usually very pleasant. However, I had a disappointing experience with one employee who refused to sell me shopping bags. I ended up having to go through customer service to resolve the issue.
Went to Acme the other day to for some snacks late at night and the employee, Damian, felt so welcoming towards the establishment. Honestly, having people like him who's patient, helpful, and overall a chill guy is what a store like Acme needs. It felt welcoming and employees like that really motivates me to go out to these stores more often, not just for their amazing selection & items, but their employees and services. Cool guy!
This place baffles me. They are absolutely terrible at keeping things in stock. If you need a hand basket for shopping, don't use the back entrance, because they literally never put any back there. Just an update see pics for the shelves on 4/8.
I really enjoy coming to this specific Acme. The folks at the pharmacy are friendly and efficient. The store is on the smaller size, but I can always get everything I need without major lines. The best part is they have ample parking in the back.
They have a lot of expired food. The store is decent but they don’t pay enough attention to expiration dates. Most recently I bought a microwavable meal that had been expired for almost a week on the day that I bought it. I’m glad I noticed at home, otherwise I for sure would have gotten sick.
When I returned the item I got my refund, but the employee didn’t even apologize. So yeah, check all expiration dates! The employees seem to be apathetic about it.
Produce section is getting worse every day - I've been there in the last three days and several of the shelves were empty. No decent herbs, no decent fruits, no decent vegetables. In the meat section, they didn't have the regular trays of chicken that are found at any ACME. I went in, couldn't find anything that I was looking for, got my car and went to the store in Edgewater. Location is perfect, I'll probably remain a customer while living in the area because it's super convenient, but the store is going down in terms of quality. Some employees are friendly, covered parking is perfect and the pharmacy staff is super nice - hence the 2 stars. Otherwise it would have been 1.
Typical supermarket - nothing spectacular to write about. They do have a “cafe” that serves coffee and a hot buffet lunch. They also have a salad bar.
Bathrooms are NOT clean and no soap was available to wash your hands.
Place is NOT cheap and is rather pricey for groceries.
There is an underground parking garage and some on street parking. Also a small parking lot is located nearby. All are free- which is a plus.
DO NOT COME HERE WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER.
I am disappointed I just placed a uber order from this supermarket and the Talenti ice cream seal was broken and lid was not closed . Also , the bagels purchased were expired .
