Very big open wide store. No one is on top of you while shopping.
Only down fall was had only 1 cashier open and 4 self serve. Had lines.
Prices like everywhere are high.
I go to the ACME Sav-On pharmacy, which I find to be staffed with friendly, compassionate people. However, when I try their Grocery section I am mostly dissatisfied and dissapointed. If I have to interact with the person in the self check out lane or Customer Service I find people who have a bad attitude and are rude. I, being a senior citizen, do have trouble with technology. I bought spomegranates which sain they were $1.99 each but the check out machine showed $2.99. Apparently these prices were with a digital coupon which had to be clipped. First of all when I go to other grocery stores that have coupons I DO NOT have to clip coupons esp a digital coupon, when I already scanned my ACME card. Then on questioning I was given such a rotten attitude by the person in the check out who sent me to customer service. The lady there was impolite, rude and bordering on having a mental breakdown. Rather than trying to help navigate the APP she was sarcastic and felt like she did not want to be bothered. Please Fire employees like her, they do not have a place in customer service.
Prices a little high on average, some occasional great bargains (racks of ribs from memorial day to 7/4. Good produce and baked goods department.
UPDATE since my last review. The store promptly responded and fixed this problem. THANK YOU for listening to your customers and I am changing my star from 1 to a 5. ????????
This store is completely PRICE GOUGING. The Impossible Burger patties have been marked at $13.99 on sale lol down from $16.99 YEAH RIGHT! I have NEVER paid this at any store. These patties are normally around $5.49. Shame on you.
Another victim of the self checkout revolution. Customer service is an afterthought at this location. Open til 10pm, but might as well be closed by 8. Two stars because the meat department is occasionally worth a look. Nearly everything else is overpriced compared to all of their competitors. Runnemede & Sicklerville locations are definitely worth going to instead of this one if you're specifically looking to shop at an ACME market.
ACME is a mixed bag. On the positive side, they carry products I love like Cabot and Tillamook cheddars, Sartori BellaVitano cheeses, a wide assortment of Tillamook ice cream, Pickapepper hot sauce, and Santa Cruz Organic Lime Juice and Lemon Juice, which other stores don't anymore. Their cakes are really good, on par with local bakeries - nice and moist and not too sweet. They have a surprisingly good Asian section with quality brands. They occasionally have really good sales. Also, their store baked cookies are amazing.
On the downside, their regular prices are sometimes higher than other stores (I've seen some sale prices that were higher than Target's everyday price), they don't seem to have a standard butcher counter, their steaks are often expensive and sliced too thin, and their bagels and bagel selection are kind of sad, almost like they're an afterthought (same for their sushi).
ACME is a grocery store I'll go to every once in a while for specific things, like Trader Joe's, rather than a grocery store I'd go to every week.
This Acme has a great produce department. Everything is always very neat and displayed nicely. Believe it or not, but, this is my fav place for buying white onions - they are always very nice and fresh. Most other stores have onions that are growing at the center - not these, they are perfect. The bakery department has a large array of freshly baked items. The meat department is always well-stocked and they offer great sale items. The store is always neat and clean. The staff is very kind and will go out of their way to help you. So, don't be afraid to ask for assistance; and the courtesy desk is always friendly and helpful.
My fiancé has gotten sushi, seaweed salad, & a vegetable egg roll for dinner many times & we have developed a taste for sushi & seaweed salad & sashimi. I like the pickled ginger & wasabi.
