SO DELICIOUS! Great atmosphere, delicious food, exceptional customer service!!! Reasonable prices and a decent bar.
We had high expectations because it was recommended by a good friend.
Starting with the service that was slow (the restaurant around 3 pm was not busy), and still took really long to even get waters. And water refills!
Then the Mofongo. The prices are elevated. The dish is not. All around it was hard and the camarones tasted quite bland.

I was hoping for better food.
Great place and great service. Very clean with a decent bar and located in a great Plaza. I ordered a churasco with fried yuca, and I got just that. The steak was maybe 5 inches and I'm typically not so picky but for the prices they are charging, they needed to do much better. They did give a house salad that comes with the meal. The lettuce on my salad were partly brown. I feel that if they are charging these prices, at the very least give what the customer pays for. Appetizers are way too overpriced. 3 small rellenos de papa balls with not even a 1/4 of a teaspoon of meat, were $9.00. This place has potential but para comida typical, los precios son demasiado caros.
Food was SUPER DELICIOUS! I'm Puerto rican, I co-sign this place, Awesome! And the service was GREAT, Thank you Desiree! Atmosphere was nice jist a little too quiet for my taste. Music playing and T.Vs up would have made this place, perfect. Definitely recommend!
I just returned from having dinner at Achiote. It was a pleasant dinner until I asked if I could order an additional salad to go. They said no. I was shocked, but I didn’t feel like protesting after having a pleasant dinner. But the more I thought about it, their refusal was not acceptable. I had gone to this restaurant about 50 times, since I’m a bachelor and I don’t cook. Many times withe a group of friends. That’s all.
Authentic food from Puerto Rico. It is fresh, made to order, large portions and tasty. It can get a bit heavy as they cook a lot of items with pork and/or pork fat (at least what was ordered) or it is fried and rich, so be ready to end with a full stomach. Tried various desserts and those were good too. Overall, a good choice.
OMG! There are not enough stars to rate this place. Their mofongo is out of this world delicious! Tried the sangria and it was really good as well. Everything I have ordered here have been delicious! I have no complaints. It is not cheap but they serve quality and I rather pay a little more and enjoy the food. If you want good Puerto Rican food this is a good place.
The food was great. The taste was authentic just like in PR. The price was little high but I understand this is specialty food. If you dont mind paying a little more for quality then this is the place to eat. Our only drawback was paying $3 for 3 small pieces of avocado. Too much for 3 very small pieces. Being from PR we are used to large avocados. We expected bigger pieces. Other than that it was a good visit. You must visit at least once.
