Best WLM Reviews
During my visit to Acenar Mexican Restaurant, I had a wonderful dining experience that was enhanced by the exceptional service provided by our server, Juan. He was incredibly attentive, ensured our order was taken promptly, and even recommended a few dishes that turned out to be excellent choices. His friendly demeanor and professionalism set a great tone for the meal.
I started with the $5 chips and salsa, which were fresh and flavorful—a great way to kick off the meal. For my main dish, I ordered the short rib tacos. The portion of beef in each taco was generous and perfectly cooked, making every bite satisfying. The rice and beans on the side were also well-seasoned and complemented the tacos beautifully.
While the food was delicious, I would suggest serving the salsa for the tacos in a ramekin instead of directly on the plate. It would elevate the presentation and make the dish feel a bit more polished.
Acenar delivers on both taste and service, with hearty portions and bold flavors. The short rib tacos are a standout dish, and the overall experience was delightful. With just a small tweak in presentation, it would be absolutely perfect. I’ll definitely return for another great meal!
Acenar in San Antonio offers a delightful culinary experience that blends traditional Mexican flavors with modern flair. The tacos were nothing short of perfection—bursting with flavor, expertly prepared, and served fresh. Pairing these with their expertly crafted whiskey mules elevated the meal; the balance of whiskey and ginger was just right, making it a refreshing choice.
The service was another highlight of the evening. Our server, Juan, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. His attentiveness, warm demeanor, and excellent recommendations made the visit even more memorable.
For anyone visiting San Antonio, Acenar is a must-visit spot for fantastic food, drinks, and impeccable service. Don’t miss it!
Excellent time had here at Acenar for a team dinner. Quick seating. Quite setting that allows you to carry a conversation and hear the people in your group actually talking. Waiter was top notch. Thorough and timely with drink orders and food orders. Very organized. We tried many plates here including the Little bit of everything entree for one. Food was all prepared amazingly and came out to the table quickly. Wrapped up with dessert. My favorite was the Tres Leches cake. Amazing. This is a must stop place whether in San Antonio for work, pleasure or just an evening meal.
Had a reservation for a party of 15. Marcus and Roy provided excellent customer service. They were super attentive and helpful. Food was great! I would recommend the enchiladas in salsa verde and the beef skewers. My family really enjoyed a few of their seafood dishes as well. Though, I do wish they had more options for kids. I was also a little disappointed with the desserts, specifically the churros. They weren’t the best. The drinks were perfect, not too strong, but also not too light. Overall, we had a great experience and would visit again!
As I eat my leftovers and reflect, everything was amazing! I’m tempted to go back before my plane! Our server was great, so was every hostess. Beautiful inside. Multiple floors, large bar area. Outdoor area as well! Tuna marg was awesome, wish I would’ve ordered the large! The short rib tacos, queso, and black beans and white rice!!!! Whew!!! If you are traveling near the River walk, this restaurant is worth the trip!
The food was excellent. I had the beef tacos and my husband had the chicken chipotle meal. This very casual place looks like it’s mostly known for its dinner crowd and maybe night life. There were not many people there at lunch time, which was surprising because the hotel clerk said it was one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in San Antonio. Definitely known for it 100 types of margaritas. It has tables on the Riverwalk but it was too hot to sit outside. Bathrooms were not clean which makes a huge difference when checking a place out. There was a live bird flying around inside eating off ground and tables and every time it flew over I thought it was going to poop on my head. The server was nice but instead of a check he handed me an electronic device and walked away. I did not know how to operate it or add a gratuity and the other server did not know how to use it. So it was a bit confusing. If they upped the cleanliness it would make a difference.
Really cute restaurant with delicious food and great, friendly service! My boyfriend and I had lunch here on a weekend and we had to wait a bit for a table but it was worth it. Great views of the Riverwalk. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious, it was hard to decide what to get! We shared the guacamole and the short rib tacos and both were very flavorful! The drinks were really good too
This place was really cool. It's right at an entrance to the Riverwalk, and it's got this retro-style architecture inside. The food was also fantastic. I got an appetizer, an entrée, and a cocktail, and it was around $55 after tip. If I'm in town again, I'll return for sure. But next time, I'm only ordering several orders of the skewers because they were top-notch!
