“Location is great and the lobby which is open all day and has food is very cool and convenient.”
“Its also great location, loved the vibe, friendly / helpful staff, loved Black Seed Bagels / Stumptown Coffee / Juice Generation being so close, lobby was very cool.”
My experience at the Ace Hotel was wonderful! This hotel has an amazing lobby with a great ambiance! Great place to get some work done or get a drink! The rooms were very nice and very clean! The Ace Hotel is a must stay destination when in NY and I plan on staying there the next time I visit NYC! It’s in a prime location as well! I felt very safe at this hotel and would recommend to anyone looking to visit!
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel! The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and the location is fantastic!
It is a very quirky hotel and nothing like a hotel I've stayed in before but I would definitely come back in a heartbeat.
Only issues we had was the useless hairdryer (recommend you take your own if you can) and the shower curtain was a bit short so the bathroom got a bit wet when we showered.
Try the coffee shop attached to it (scrumptown) the coffee is very good!
This is a hotel past its prime, coasting on former laurels. It desperately needs to be refreshed. Only positive thing I will say, is that if you like a dark hotel, this is for you. Our room was on the courtyard and it was dark and quiet, which I appreciated. Perfect for vampires. The street side however, is LOUD. Be forewarned. Lastly the gym is abysmal and dirty. It is swelteringly hot, with a box fan fighting for its life. Also half the lights were burnt out too. When I told reception, I was met with “we know.” I would not stay here again.
From the moment we walked into the Ace, we knew we were going to enjoy ourselves! The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, assisting us with various requests and recommendations. The rooms were so great as well! Quite spacious for NYC to fit the 4 of us in one double queen room! I will be recommending everyone to stay here if they are staying in NYC!
Took my family and had the opportunity to stay in the attic. We absolutely loved the atmosphere of lobby and our room. Love the modern with vintage vibe of the hotel. The staff was welcoming and courteous. I look forward to coming back for more stays.
Look, I appreciate the moody lobby aesthetic - very "upscale vampire lair chic." The front desk staff? Absolute gems in this dungeon. And kudos on the innovative room keys, though I'm still not sure if they were actually working or if my door just gave up and started opening out of pity.
The real artistic statement was the chemical warfare experiment happening in the hallway. Nothing says "boutique hotel experience" quite like holding your breath for a 50-yard dash to your room. Speaking of which, my "cozy" chamber (real estate speak for "could touch all four walls while doing a star jump") came with its own climate-based choose-your-own-adventure: Arctic Tundra or Sahara Desert, no in-between.
The shower deserves special mention - imagine a tired llama with allergies attempting to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge. That's the exact water pressure and temperature situation I encountered. Also, apparently hand soap is now considered a luxury amenity? Very bold.
Pro tip: Pack a hazmat suit, a space heater AND a fan, and perhaps your own llama. It might actually be an improvement.
If you have a mold allergy, avoid. If you enjoy hot water, avoid. Bathroom fixtures are disgusting and for some reason the toilets in the two rooms I saw are mounted so high everybody including men 6’ and taller, had their feet dangling above the floor when sitting down — super weird. Beds are comfortable and minibar is well appointed. Staff are super friendly especially at the bar. Breakfast diner/restaurant was poor quality. Still had a great visit to NYC but this hotel was memorable for the wrong reasons. Location is exactly what you get - midtown and accessible to different spots but not exactly cool.
