Best WLM Reviews
Such a beautiful hotel just a block away from Miami's Downtown Riverwalk. After a long day of travel, it was incredibly nice to be greeted at check-in with a glass of Rose'. The room was VERY clean and beautiful! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! From the front desk to servers at breakfast, and the staff at valet, customer service was 5 Star!
The room had a small fridge with complimentary water, safe, coffee maker, ironing board w/ iron, hairdryer, and a few extra toiletries, like a shower cap and makeup-remover wipes. The walk-in shower had a tall overhead rain shower-head with a separate handheld shower-head.
I think this might be the first time leaving a review for a hotel, but I felt it necessary after the experience. The service I received was truly one star.
My booking was made and confirmed via Marriott.com. Several days later I received an email instructing me to update my payment information. I followed the instructions and did so, thinking all was well going into the reservation itself.
Upon disembarking from the cruise we were on and looking for the address to get to the hotel though, we saw that our reservation had been canceled. I called the hotel number and reached the front desk, who told me that the payment information had not been updated (which was false) and that I would have to wait up to an additional 30 minutes for the manager to call me back to get things sorted out.
45 minutes later the manager called me back and apologized that it had happened, but it was too little done too late.
Hands down, some of the worst service I've ever experienced with a hotel. Why the front desk couldn't have either called or emailed to confirm the booking after the payment was updated and why it seemed like it was reasonable to expect us to wait 30-45+ minutes to determine whether or not we *might* be able to reconcile our booking was beyond me.
Seems like this is on-par for management here though. Classic example of needing to read the reviews before booking...
Stayed here for two nights for a work trip. The hotel itself is nice, however the service could use work. During check-in there was no mention about a daily voucher (as someone with Marriott status). The rooms are not sound proof at all so you can hear the train and all the traffic. Also only option for parking is valet which is $46 a day.
Beautiful room in a convenient location. Our 11th floor corner room had an excellent view from both windows. Pool looks lovely although the hours are very inconvenient since they close at sunset so we were unable to experience it during our stay. Lobby bar has delicious drinks, I definitely recommend the Prickly Pear.
Only frustration in the room was that despite being reserved for two adults, they only had supplies for one single coffee; not the standard one each but one total.
A facade of modernity and efficiency neither excuse nor veil the aura of cheapness and specific shortcomings of these inadequately appointed rooms. The modernity and efficiency all come at the expense of guests and to the benefit of the bottom line of the hotel, which I believe is short-sighted as we will not be returning. I have simple and basic minimum requirements for a hotel room: cleanliness, comfortable bed and uninterrupted sleep, fully functional bathroom and shower, coffee to start the day without leaving the room for it. That's it. For a basic, functional, non-resort stay, I don't care much about decor, extra touches, etc., but these basics should be nailed. Of those listed basic expectations, our stay here only adequately addressed for me the first two I listed, for my wife only the cleanliness part, for which I am thankful, though other guests have taken issue in their reviews with noise from within and outside the room and would not agree with the point about comfortable and uninterrupted sleep. The main thing this hotel has going for it is location. Though they normally don't bother me much, the shortcomings coupled with overall room feeling of cheapness make all of the other issues more evident, like unaligned wallpaper patterning on their seams, spartan walls, etc. And now for the basic shortcomings. There is no privacy in the bathroom. You can hear everything through the frosted sliding glass door. Why didn't they use a wooden or even a wood fiber door? My wife even asked if the door was closed when called out and asked me something and I responded. There is enough low-grade coffee provided for a single cup of watery regular coffee and a single cup of watery decaf produced by the cheap plastic coffee maker. That's it. How much does an extra pouch or two of coffee cost? A buck? Less? Fortunately, we noticed this and purchased chilled, canned coffee beverages from the neighboring CVS the prior night. Thankfully, we're only staying one night then moving on with our travels. I would stay somewhere else next time, though our stay was free due to hotel points on Bonvoy. I didn't realize Marriott had such a subpar hotel in their portfolio. Not recommended.
The worst experience ever during a hurricane. Did not care about peoples lives only money. My family was in 3 tornadoes trying to make it to Miami and for our safety, we had to stop traveling. The hotel charged my card without my approval after customer service told me they wouldn't. Spoke to a manager, Melissa, worst customer service representative i have ever worked with. She refused to help and put me on hold and told me she would help but she went and helped another guest, leaving me on hold for 25 minutes and then came back and asked why I was still holding and put me back on hold.
Wow, your response was so generic. You never reached out to me and definitely did not try to help with the horrible service from your hotel staff. Please do not try and make yourself look better for the general public that reads the reviews. I will continue to inform people of the horrible experience that your hotel provided during a hurricane and the stress it has caused.
Room was nice but they charge extra $30 per day for destination fee and additional $4 tax fee. The parking per day is $48. And trying to find parking on the street is hard, I would advise you to park your vehicle at the parking garage down the block. The Brickell View Terrace Garage on SW 9TH ST and SW FIRST AVE, $12 per day and it's a 5 min walk.
Highly recommend this hotel on all fronts: fantastic location, clean & modern rooms, gorgeous pool deck with amazing views, and exceptional service from literally every employee we encountered that far exceeded my expectations. Shevonne and Woodne at the front desk, in particular, were incredibly kind and enthusiastic to make our stay a great experience.
