This was my first stay during a business trip. The location is prime and very walkable to an assortment of food options. They have on-site parking below the hotel that is an extra charge. The hotel rooms were nice enough, but the bed was hard as a rock. It might have been more comfortable sleeping on the pavement outside since it felt like that was what you were sleeping on anyway. My husband and I had to both take Ibuprofen after the first night to sleep in that bed the next 2 nights. I've never stayed in any hotel that had such a horrible bed set up. They did have a beautiful bar and outdoor seating area. The staff were all very friendly and polite. My only complaint was how terrible our sleep was due to how horribly thin the mattress was, and it felt like we were sleeping on a concrete slab.
From the moment we checked in we were made to feel comfortable and our experience in Chapel Hill was a success. Jakiah at the front desk was quick to give us local restaurant tips and recommend her favorite locations. After a long day of traveling Jakiah was a god send and her recommendations were spot on!!! Angela at the bar was amazing too!!! She was very welcoming and made us feel like a regular even though it was our first time here. She also made the best espresso martini I’d ever had!!! Great job to Jakiah and Angela. Y’all were great, and the AC Hotel Marriott is lucky to have you serving their guests!!!
My trip was cancelled due to a hurricane. I called to cancel after my flight was cancelled and was told I was "all set". I was charged for a night's stay and the explanation when I called back was because "Other people could come to the hotel." I have called 3 times asking to speak to the manager, and contacted corporate who said the manager from Chapel Hill would contact me. Never have been contacted once. They basically stole money from me.
Stayed at this location on a business trip last week and wow, can’t stay enough about the experience. The staff here is an absolute standout and made the trip a true joy. Special thank you to Angela at the bar, Dennis in the kitchen and Felinda and Jakiah at the front desk - each absolute beacons of hospitality. Comfy rooms, quiet and safe -Truly a great experience, thank you to this team!
Our trip was cancelled due to a hurricane. I called to cancel and was told I was "all set". Surprised to see a charge for one night on my card, I called and was told that a fee was charged because "other people could get to the hotel" I called to speak to the manager three times, contacted corporate who said the manager would call me. I'm disgusted that they charged me, refuse to discuss this. Feels like they stole that money.
Positive: The location and very helpful/friendly stafff Negative: The room definitely was showing a little wear. Like glued together towel bar, and wallpaper that had definitely seen better days.
Great location in Chapel Hill one block off Franklin. Tons of restaurants nearby as well. Friendly and helpful front desk staff, and clean modern rooms that were very comfortable.
Stayed here for a work trip and this hotel is so beautiful. Falinda at the front desk was amazing she was so sweet and informative. The room was nice and bed is super comfy. The only downside is there is no pool and the bar next door is super loud at night every night making it difficult to sleep at times. The bartenders were great made great drinks. The breakfast was good but very limited options. Most of the staff was ok but a few were not very nice.
