Always been a fan of here, first time back since they reopened after the fire and the food is just as good as before but the overall environment is even better now. Always was cute in there but the redecorating and open floor concept makes it even nicer. Recommend the flautas they never disappoint
Abys Mexican restaurant is located in Matawan, New Jersey and it is a must-go location if you're in the area. Our server was Scotty and his service was fantastic. Simply fantastic with also giving his favorite suggestions as well. He was a very nice gentleman and truly cared for his guests to have the best experience possible. All meals come with chips and salsa which is fantastic since an Appetizer is included with your meal. To upgrade the chips and salsa I would suggest adding the guacamole to enhance your taste buds. For my entrées, I ordered the chimichanga which is a deep-fried burrito served with your choice of meat and I chose chicken which was delicious. It's also covered with cheese and your choice of sauce in which I got the creamy Chipotle sauce which also comes with rice and beans. This meal is to die for and a staple dish when it comes to Abys. A huge shoutout to Elias, Coco, Manny, Aby, and Scotty for allowing us to Dine here tonight. Starving.Schiano rating review 10 out of 10. ????

I love going to Aby's! The food is so fresh and delicious. The service was great as well. Everyone at my table always got something different to try it all and loved it!
The aromas that surround you when the waiter walks by with the food is amazing! Plus - byob and can easily support a large party size.
Prices are simply unrealistic. $22 for a chicken burrito? A couple’s dinner date is like $70-$80 all in after tip for 2 entrees, guac app, and 2 soft drinks. If owner is reading this - your food is good but the prices are just unsustainable. Comparable competition around the area has much more reasonable pricing. Sorry guys but it’s just the truth.
They played the same song on loop for the entirety of our time dining. When I asked if they had any other songs to play other than the same one that was played six times prior they giggled and turned the music off completely.the food looked great but had no flavor, I ordered the chicken Verde and my date ordered the flautas which was very dry. With only 2 other couples dining we had the whole place to ourselves. Unfortunately our server never checked in on us to see how our food came out. We won't be going back here to dine cause it was a really crummy experience.
We always visited Aby's in the past, and we're so happy that it's back open again! The newly renovated restaurant is beautiful! The food was delicious and fresh. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because even though there were only 4 tables of customers in the restaurant while we were there, the service was extremely slow. While our server was friendly and polite, we found ourselves waiting for drink refills, napkins, etc. and we could see our server standing near the register talking with other employees. Maybe I'm overly critical of service since I was a server for over 20 years in settings including casual bar/grille to fine dining and banquets... Anyway, this won't stop us from visiting again.
