The drinks were very good, but the food was incredible. We sat at the bar, our server, Danielle, was helpful and friendly. Everyone was busy cleaning up tables and serving meals. The restaurant was clean, and the bathrooms were both clean as well.
Our server I think his name was Calvin he was a tall white young man, he was excellent. We will be going back because of the food and hope we get him again as our server. He needs a raise he went above and beyond his job duties
Went to visit some family in Abilene and had heard great things about Abuelo’s. We had a party of 7 and I know parties of our size can be a handful but our server took us like a champ. Mia was amazing! She greeted us very kindly and already had chips with salsa for us. Ordered some margaritas and the fajita feast, everything came out perfect. Mia was very attentive and would even refill drinks without being asked. Wonderful service, would 100% recommend and come again.
We loved our waitress, Miss Lydia. We got there right at 11 for lunch. The food was really good but my friends meal was supposed to have no tomatoes yet she spent quite a bit of time picking them out. I loved what I got but the vegetables were so bland and undercooked I couldn't eat them but the main dish was great. We also loved all of the salsas we tried. The restaurant itself was beautiful
Great meal and wonderful service. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Abilene. I had Ahi and my wife had the sea bass, very good. The only disappointment was the bacon wrapped shrimp, it was fried to death and just thrown on the plate.
Outstanding Mexican restaurant! A little loud inside but nice atmosphere, great service, and I had the absolute best chile relleno I have ever eaten. The blackberry mojito is great too.
Went to Abuelo's to celebrate a work promotion with a friend and co-worker. The food was awesome plenty to go around we ate till we were full. We ordered the queso appetizer and then the fajitas for two. Along with two Dr peppers. The appetizer was excellent the cheese sauce was perfect. Our host was an awesome person. She checked on us through the entirety of our dinner, and that is a huge plus for me, service was prompt and good.The fajitas were on point the shrimp was amazing the steak was great the mixed vegetables to meat ratio was perfect. We couldn't finish the whole thing which was a good thing. I do recommend anybody wanting to eat authentic food to come to this awesome place. There might be a 10-minute wait but believe me when I tell you it was worth it. Will definitely return. I only rated four stars for atmosphere because it was a little loud and there was a lot of people on a Thursday not much the restaurant to do about it except maybe build another restaurant :) will recommend to anyone that wants a decent experience at a modest price.
