We went for Father’s Day and we immediately got seated. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Our waiter Jeremy did an excellent job of serving us and taking care of us. The food was excellent but expect to spend approximately $20+ a person. It was $79 + tip for 3 meals, 3 waters and 1 drink. It was worth it because the whole experience was awesome. Great place for a special occasion.
We had a very yummy meal at Abuelo's! We had chips, a trio of salsas, queso, and guacamole. We were there during happy hour, so the queso and guac were only $5 a piece. My wife ordered the spinach enchiladas with rice and beans. I ordered the BBQ shrimp fajitas with rice and beans. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious! The atmosphere is festive. Our server was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend having a meal here.
We love that we have an Abuelo close to our new home. We've been a few times already and found the staff, food and service top notch! We will be back!
ya'll...drive right on past the mundane "Eds" restaurant across 75, and get some flavorful, exciting food!
Great Customer Service At This Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant Location In Tulsa, Oklahoma. The food Is Very Consistent With Other Locations, Nice Atmosphere, Good Selection Of Mix Drinks. We Will Be Back Next time In Tulsa.
had an absolutely wonderful dinner and our waiter. Jeremy was amazing.
he had our drinks filled
and then when our food got brought out, it was hot and warm
The salsa and chips were delicious. The guacamole was amazing.
and then after all of our dinner was Done, we got a dessert that was awesome. They’re flying. Would recommend 10 out of 10.
We arrived and were immediately greeted by Mallek. He was very kind and accommodating! He allowed us to sit outside with no problems and offered to put up the umbrella to keep out the sun. His people skills were outstanding. Our server was not as friendly and when asking about a menu item was kind of rude and short. The food came out promptly and tasted great. Before we had even gotten halfway through our meal the server brought us the check. No offers of dessert or anything. Overall great experience. Server needs to work on her people skills but was efficient enough.
Clean and well-decorated restaurant with great service. I was totally impressed to sit down and get a nice bowl of chips along with 3 different dipping salsas. I ordered the fajita salad with shrimp. I turned down another bowl of chips as I had half a bowl left, but I accepted the salsa refill. Very tasty and different were these salsas. There was a lot to the fajita salad and I couldn’t eat all of it (too many chips, I guess). And the icing on the cake was the friendly, smiling service that was provided by Mosiah. If I’ve eaten at an Abuelo’s before, it’s been too long ago to remember. However, I can see another visit soon in the future. They look like they have some pretty nice happy hour specials and at least one low-calorie margarita.
I remember in the early 2000's when Aubelo's opened it was pretty decent for a chain. Not so much at the Tulsa Hills location. Walking to our table before seating, the server literally asked me four times if we wanted a El Jeffe margarita. I guess they have a server promotion going but it was irritating. The chips were mostly crumbs, had to ask for another basket. The food was expensive compared to portion size, bland and honestly I see no reason to go to this restaurant when there are much better local establishments that are more flavorful at a third the price. My date asked for a lemon wedge and received a whole lemon. We took ???? home at least.
