At the recommendation of a coworker, I tried this place that’s tucked in a shopping center. Everything I had was excellent - including the cheese enchilada (with my favorite kind of gravy), carne asada, tortillas, rice, beans, and guacamole. The tea was weak but that’s my only suggestion for improvement. I also appreciated all of the lunch plate options. I’ll be back!
Just ate here for the second or third time and I LOVE the service here. Not even just to me. The owner(s) and cooks and servers will regularly come out from the kitchen and greet their regulars like old friends. It's very much a neighborhood eatery and it just feels so welcoming. They engage in friendly conversation and catch up with folks they haven't seen and the servers are very attentive! Certainly helps that the food is solid with great times from the kitchen, and the prices are hard to beat!
**********FAMILY RESTRAUNT *************
1ST TIME Visit. I was happily surprised to find Owners working Restraunt. Other Family members also working there. I know where I grew up, if you actually find a Family owned and RUN restaurant, it was worth going to.
I enjoyed the decorations and atmosphere.
I was respectful and patient and was not disappointed. I had Chorizo con huevo, Barbacoa tacos, and my wife had a Migas plate it was Amazjngly delicious. Small staff, so be patient and enjoy the food. I saw more than 1 customer come in, and they were greeted as if they knew each other. It's a family atmosphere. I love that the Flour and Corn tortillas are homemade. I also purchased Calabacita with pollo, and it was Amazing. The Staff is very kind and friendly and of course very busy. The restaurant is small and cozy yet can hold large families if needed. The restaurant is Open till 2:30 pm but all the Great restaurants close early. (FAMILY TIME)
This place is a hidden GEM. When I was there, I saw the owners working hard and greeting everyone kindly. There are so many different Menu items for those Authentic Mexican food customers......Fideo, chicharron, barbacoa, Albondiga with Chipotle, Calabacita with pollo to name a few and of course all your Favorite regular Mexican plates. I loved the Food . I plan to be a regular. They also have 3 different types of hot and flavorful sauces for every taste. Restaurant located in a small shopping center and has a
Large parking lot, for what it's worth. I was pleasantly pleased to meet the owners.
********Abuelitas Mexican Restaurant ******
In Hunters Hill ..... Shopping Center.
Wow i hadn't been in such a Great Mexican restaurant in years. LoL i picked this place cause i said...a name like Abuelas has to be good...it didn't disappoint rather it was a very nice and very delicious place. #1 the tortillas were fluffy and so perfect. You can order reg tacos or there Big taco and anything you want. The food tasted on point and everything came out perfect no salt needed...#2 there green n red salsas were also both amazing and delicious. #3 the waiting staff were all friendly and always made sure i didn't need anything. The atmosphere is friendly and calm. It almost never had a open table. #3 the owner was very friendly and made sure you were appreciated for stopping by. Gracias for ser tan authentica y deliciosa ???? ❤️????
Great food!! Great Staff!! Excellent service!!
Update! The food at Abuela's is consistently good. Always a great selection of daily lunch specials.
A family owned Mexican restaurant with very friendly attentive servers. Amazing overall staff that greet customers with a big smile.
My favorite here is the Menudo, Country Guisado Tacos, 911 Special, Chile Relleno, Enchiladas Mexicanas and Huevo Rancheros.
Cater to Old regulars. If they don't know you, don't go there. It seems like many Mexican Restaurants, do this if you're new there, they take their sweet ass time, to take your order, then they do the same, bringing your order, its like they don't care for your business, but they jump towards people they know. You can't pick n choose who you like or don't like, it's a Business, you should treat everyone with the same courtesy. I guess, if you're Disabled n well dressed, they act inferior. I'm just saying. Need to Stop tipping these folks, they don't earn it! Never again, Tip them well don't even get a Thank you, pretty pathetic. This is probably why I don't like Family owned establishments, they won't Fire their Family members. Food was pricey for the Quality, not worth the money. Bad Food, Bad Service, don't need to come here, not worth it, overrated! A new Customer. ???????????????? Better places to eat, i.e. Nichas, Palappas.????
Buela's is the definition of hospitality. I am in the area working on a residential design project and my team and I have been here a few times. The food is amazing but the feeling of FAMILIA (FAMILY) is what will keep me coming back.
I am not Hispanic either. But I felt like they cared as much that I was there as any regular diner.
This is what we should expect but often don't experience. I highly recommend Buela's!
Exceptional Mexican cuisine! The clutch was homemade flour and corn tortillas. The restaurant was very clean and decor was definitely uplifting ????
