Finally got the chance to try this amazing restaurant today with my 4 year old grandson. It is literally like going back in time with great food and service. The restaurant is well known and cherished by locals and the customers are all grateful for this classic diner. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Always have known Abel's Diner to be a great place to eat. Quite a while since I last ate here with my wife and my move further away. A friend suggested coming to Abel's for a 0900am breakfast. Nothing has changed. Familiar decorations. Good crowd. No waiting . Service was super quick. Food was nicely presented and good. Food was moderately priced. $15 average for breakfast, coffee, & fruit bowl.
Great food and service, Clamp Chowder is excellent along with the weekly specials. Wednesday is Beef Tips highly recommend
I have dined at Abel’s for 20+ years. Food is always fresh, delicious, staff is friendly, service is great and there is a family atmosphere. The owner often visits tables talking to patrons and making them feel welcomed. My only complaint would be their pies are not homemade but the chocolate chip cake is and it’s a must try! Next time you’re in Schertz stop by for either breakfast, lunch or dinner (maybe all 3?) I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Staff were absolutely amazing, and the restaurant was clean. We were so excited to visit. We ordered the meatloaf and chicken fried chicken. My chicken was so dry, and so tough. Mashed potatoes seemed like instant (but were tasty), vegetables were extremely overcooked. The broccoli was no longer green, but that green/brown/gray color and overcooked and mushy. Carrots were firm, zucchini was dry. Prices are great, but food quality was not what we were expecting.
I wish there was one near my house! We stopped by chance and it did not disappoint!! Service was wonderful and the food was yummy. Our kiddos had the fried chicken sandwich and both kiddos were very happy. Do pick up a cinnamon roll on your way out it was soooo good. You will not regret it!!
