This is our second time coming to the lodge. It is close to home and a nice weekend get away. Although the rooms that are updated look nice, the beds are uncomfortable. The soap they provide is next to nothing and there is no creamer for the coffee.
Pros are the lodge has a lot of rooms to sit and enjoy a fire or relax that are cozy. The kids loved the indoor pools and games.
Restaurant is TERRIBLE food. Terrible terrible. Don’t eat here.
We will still return as the little town and scenery is beautiful but the lodge needs to up the little details for comfort to guest
Nice room. Beautiful park. We had a wedding there, it was beautiful and perfect. The rooms are a little pricey, but they are nice rooms. The wedding venue was amazing. The reception was inside. Very accommodated, we had a good time. There's much to do, horseback riding, camping, hiking, swimming, and a restaurant inside the lodge. If u go, enjoy.
The room was a king and was really nice..
The background is brown county, state parks, and that, of course, is beautiful..
The refrigerator went on the fritz and couldn't get it replaced till the next day. The floors were dirty..
When the freezer thawed and melted, it ran onto the floor, I wiped it up with one of their towels, and it was filthy.
It was a multi night stay, and there was no maid service. If you needed something, you had to go to the front desk..
Water park gets a 3* as well..
$250.00/Night..
Patio room relaxing and country decorations so beautiful. Hand hewn wood lodge area. Large comfortable sitting area with fireplace.Comfortable..little expensive because comes with up to 4 indoor water park passes. Did not use.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Restaurant has delicious well cooked and seasoned food.
Park is absolutely gorgeous with high elevation over 1,000 feet in areas with breathtaking views especially in fall.
Has small to family size cabins. Southern Indiana so lots of hills. Good place to visit and revitalize your soul.
We stayed in a cabin. It was just lovely. It was close to the lodge, we had a coffee pot and a refrigerator but other than that we ate at the lodge and went into town one night. Hiking trails were wonderful, the swimming pool was closed except
for the weekend, but the inside water park was delightful. Couldn't ask for nicer or more helpful staff. I highly recommend this State Park.
I booked a room for November 27, 28 and 29. The 28 is our 54 wedding anniversary. I asked if I had to make reservations for the Thanksgiving dinner and the woman I was talking to told me yes but they were not taking reservations for Thanksgiving until November 1. My wife called on October 31 ( a day early) and the Thanksgiving dinner was booked up. She was informed that reservations started October 1.
The woman at the desk gave us wrong information and totally ruined our Anniversary plans. Everything else is already booked.
Thank you for ruining our Anniversary and not willing to fix your error.
Our family cabin that we reserved weeks in advance wasn't available on night 1. They put us in a cabin suite that only had 1 bedroom for 4 people that wanted 2 separate bedrooms so 1 couple ended up getting a room in the inn to which had bed bugs and ended up back in the cabin suite. Then day 2 they put us in the Deluxe cabin that we had reserved previously with 2 bedrooms but when we got into it the door to our back porch wouldn't open and 1 of the bedrooms air conditioning didn't work. The soap and garbage can for the bathroom was on the front porch with garbage from the people the night before. No wifi and only 1 channel available on TV. We moved 3 times in 2 nights and with all of these issues I would never stay there again especially because they knew about the room in the inn having a bed bug issue and still put my aunt and uncle in that room. They offered us free food but honestly if they have bugs and do nothing about it, I definitely would never eat anything coming out of that kitchen. Highly disappointed ???? I don't recommend ever!!!!
We traveled from Arkansas to attend a family reunion at the Brown County State Park. We stayed in the Lodge while most family either camped at the camp ground or drove up the day of as it is closer to where they live. Anyways, the beds were terribly firm. It was like sleeping on a wooden board. The rooms are in bad need of some serious updates. Even though quiet hours were posted between 11pm-7am...the people on the 2nd floor were so loud until at least 2am. Kids were running up and down the hall late into the night. My main complaint is the Lodge Restaurant. The family always has a brunch at the lodge restaurant on Sunday morning. The Lodge Restaurant knew WAY in advance that there were going to be 30 of us. There is a separate dining area for a big group. When we all get to the restaurant, the wait staff informs us that we can't all sit together in that room because it wouldn't be fair for the waitress that gets that area to get all the tips when the rest of them wouldn't get any. They also claimed that they knew nothing about our big group. They made us all sit in different areas of the restaurant. How are you supposed to visit with people if you can't sit with them? Honestly, it was a crappy breakfast buffet that cost $15.99/person and if I had known my drink was going to cost me $3.00...I would have ordered a water. Nothing to signify a price anywhere in the restaurant. She brought us drinks and never came back for refills until we were completely finished with the meal. I wish I hadn't even given the small tip that I gave because service was TERRIBLE and to not even sit us together was outright disgraceful. Two of waitresses were just standing around.
The pavilion was nice for the reunion & the trail was fun.
