Best WLM Reviews

A large group in Boston for a business trip had an amazing evening at Abe & Louie’s. They have a large private dining room that was perfect for us. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. I had a wonderful glass of Riesling and a delicious piece of fresh bread while waiting on dinner. I chose the New England clam chowder, plank salmon with green beans and whipped potatoes. It was amazing. For dessert, I had the Chef’s trio with a lemon square, dark, chocolate brownie, and an apple strudel square. Each bite was so good and the trio was the perfect way to try several things. Alas, it looked so good I ate it without getting a picture! Others in my group got the ribeye, which was very large. They said it was delicious. Another well like option was a risotto dish. Lots of choices for every palate! Definitely put this great restaurant on your list if you’re in Boston.
Absolutely the best of the best, I truly could not recommend this place enough. Hands down one of the best filets I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also tried the lobster dumplings which are a must. Our server was super friendly, professional, and helpful as well. Overall one of my favorite restaurants I’ve been to in a while, you’ve gotta give it a try.
Went there with my wife and son for lunch. Ordered ceaser salad to start and 2 orders of usda prime striploin and a chicken club sandwich. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well and the sandwich was also excellent.... Loved it. I will go there again.
I dislike, almost hate the manner of the host as I entered. First of all the height of place which host and the stands were at were higher than that of the guest, so the host speak to you in a top-to-bottom ish condescending direction.
I went in as a single dinner and I was said “party of one for lunch”, THEN I was asked, “Ohh, So, you want to have lunch with us?” Quite annoyed by that question honestly. I sensed the indifference a bit, so also condescending in manner.
Food wise, everything is great.
Crab Cake
Decent sized crab cake with tons of crab meat and topped with mayo coated slaws. Creamy and savory.
Abe’s Omelette
The omelet was stuffed with a filet steak and with cheeses. Very satisfying in terms of the flavor and with the portion. Literally twice of my hand sizes. Instead of the fries I opted for the brussel sprouts. These were crispy and nicely seasoned.
HOWEVER, the omelet took forever to come. I waited at the table for around 25-30mins after I finished the crab cake for the omelette, while seeing the table sat after me finishing their meals and left. And they forgot the sauce to pair with the brussel sprouts! The garlic aioli was something I was looking forward to try yet I wasn’t even given the chance. Since I waited tooo long for the plate to come I essentially gave up on asking.
Food was 8/10, but I don’t think I will recommend this place to my friends. No one deserves an attitude when he/she is in a good mood for great food.
Abe and Louie – A Perfect 5-Star Dining Experience
Abe and Louie exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, the experience was flawless.
We began with the tuna tartare, perfectly prepared and generously portioned for three—it was fresh, flavorful, and a fantastic start to the meal. For drinks, we enjoyed a passion fruit margarita, an espresso martini, and an old fashioned. Each cocktail was crafted to perfection, bursting with flavor and balance—5/5 across the board.
For the main course, we indulged in the veal chop, filet mignon, and prime rib, all cooked to absolute perfection with melt-in-your-mouth textures and bold, savory flavors. The sides elevated the meal even further—mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and crispy hash browns—each one a star in its own right.
To top it all off, we couldn’t resist the warm cookie with ice cream for dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
The ambience deserves special mention—calm, relaxed, and never too loud, making it ideal for a more intimate dining experience.
If you’re looking for an upscale steakhouse with exceptional food, impeccable drinks, and a peaceful atmosphere, Abe and Louie should be at the top of your list. We can’t wait to return!
Really phenomenal dinner. The host was wonderful even though one of the party members was quite delayed. The waiter made everything so smooth. He was the highest of professionals. So calm just making sure the meal was perfect.
Ordered the bacon wrapped squash as an appetizer and it was phenomenal. The mustard sauce was the perfect wrapper. I'd order it again.
For the main I went with Veal Diane au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts. Absolutely perfectly prepared and seasoned. A spectacular success.
No room for dessert but I'm sure it would have been a bow on the experience.
If I had to have any complaints I'd say that the som being busy could be it but it wasn't a game changer. Also was a bit loud for business conversation but it's a Friday night I really shouldn't complain.
Valet was a bit disorganized but also not that big of a deal.
Having just arrived in Boston we checked in and then headed straight here for lunch. We did make reservations prior, which are recommended. Service was friendly and excellent. The venue is beautiful, quaint, and the décor is upscale wood paneled walls and we took notice of how clean (not dusty) everything was.
The menu was filled with many appetizing dishes, but our goal was to eat as much clam chowder on this trip as possible, so we knew we wanted to start with that and it’s typically rich and filling. So, we did start with a bowl each and then got their lobster dumplings, and a side of brussel sprouts.
We started with a couple of 9oz pours of some white wine… again, another menu that was big and impressive was their by-the-glass wine list.
The clam chowder was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Up until this point, it was easily the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve had some award winning chowder in various places over the years. It was thick, rich, a clam in each bite, not overly loaded with potatoes, and the consistency of the soup was excellent and perfectly seafood-flavored! Definitely a thing of beauty!!
The brussel sprouts were excellent! Nicely fried to a crisp and perfectly cooked through with tons of great flavor, and those lobster dumplings were incredible!
Highly recommend stopping in!
Absolutely phenomenal! Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants. Even though it is classified as a steakhouse, they have some amazing seafood dishes as well. My favorites being the lobster club and the jumbo crab meat cocktail. Great quality, fresh, nicely seasoned food. The service is always great as well. You won't regret it!
