Wow. This place deserves 10 stars. It was truly great. I feel like it’s a hidden gem because it was not very busy.
Our server was awesome. She helped us decide what we should get. She also made us aware that kids eat free on Wednesday so as a bonus my son got catfish with fries. The fries are a new number one. Even once they cooled down they still hit. We also got their fried pickles which were delicious. The crab, corn and potatoes were perfectly done. We got mild butter garlic with some spicy butter garlic on the side. So yummy! We got two clusters of snow crab and one cluster of Dungeness. I wasn’t a fan of the Dungeness, nothing on the restaurant just wasn’t as good as the snow crab. We got beignets for dessert. Overall our total cost was $80. I would call that a win. Very happy overall and will definitely go back again.
The service staff were fantastic, greeted us with smiles and asked how we were doing today. The food was very delicious, hot and came out very quickly! Highly recommend this place!
The shrimp are a good size and fried well. I could taste the sweetness of the shrimp! However, the catfish was a disappointment. It was a generous serving. But the texture of and taste to the breading on the thin filet was not to my liking.
My meals came with cole slaw that had a bite to it and seasoned fries that were delicious.
Good value, for good seafood. I didn’t say great seafood, but for the price, the value is here. They deliver on the Crab Shack atmosphere; complete with bar, TV’s and small arcade. Unfortunately, that also includes uncomfortable chairs for a longer stay / meal.
TIP: ask about the specials and the catch of the day-type pricing and entree availability.
I was not impressed at all with my meal, shrimp had no flavor, crab cluster was tiny and I realize seafood is more expensive but I think I’d keep my seafood for the gulf or coast dining. I think if you’re going to go here get something fried, not boiled or “fresh” as it was tasteless. Staff was excellent, vibe of the place was great, sadly the french fries were the best part of our meal. Potatoes in the boil were mushy, shrimp had zero flavor, sausage and corn was ehhh.
Tried this place because CR Surf and Turf was closed (on Mondays), and we were not at all disappointed. It’s actually very similar to CR S&T. The grilled Mahi was excellent…I didn’t get the mango salsa, I requested garlic butter instead. The veggies were perfectly cooked and came with an amazing dip sauce. The fried catfish…(that I’m not usually a fan of), was very white, thick and delicious as well. Great crust on it and 2 big pieces!
Pricing is very reasonable.
Been twice now great food both times. This time the portions in each bag seemed a little more generous. Got the bottom of the ocean seasoning and the medium heat. Seemed to lean more towards hot than medium but still good. Service was prompt and friendly. Snow crab and shrimp were delicious. Give it a try you'll love it.
Husband and I got the boiled sausage and shrimp. The sausage was fine. The shrimp was cooked okay but utterly tasteless. The cocktail sauce was very different than any I've had before and not in a good way. Corn was mushy. Won't be back.
