Best WLM Reviews

We love Aatish. It’s one of our go to restaurants on Capitol Hill for take out. Been customers for years and the food is almost always exactly the same. Is it blow you away Indian you might find at some of the fancier spots in town? It’s not. But it’s consistently excellent, affordable, and hits the spot every time for our family.
Overall I was not satisfied with my experience and will not return. The pictures of the full table show everything that was ordered. All together $80 for two. Butter chicken, extra rice, samosa, 2 naan and the chicken dish. The breads were $5+ each and the rice came out to like $10. None of the menu prices were accurate.
The posted restaurant hours said they were open until 10:30pm, at 9:30 the waitress asked if we wanted dessert because they were closing. We denied and she quickly brought the bill. None of the items had prices just a total.
Service was subpar, the waitress was awkward as was the environment. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This dinner really annoyed me
We usually order Aatish to go/have delivered. We went into the restaurant once, but were the only ones there so I'm guessing they do most of their business using takeout. The food is good! The butter chicken has good flavor. A little pricey for what you get and considering new Indian food places have opened up around Capitol Hill.
My husband and I want to like this place because we love Indian food, it's near our home, and it has been around for a long time. However, it is an awkward experience every time we go.
The decor is confusing (white tablecloths and stemmed glasses paired with outdated china, old chairs too low for the table, and dirty carpet), and the restaurant is eerily quiet except for conversations coming from the kitchen.
The staff seems inexperienced and/or disinterested. The servers bring your food and occasionally fill your empty glasses, but they otherwise spend their time standing around in the back. This visit, the server was nice but kept asking us if we wanted drinks or desserts, and it felt like she was trying to make a big of a sale as possible on the only table in the restaurant.
The food was okay. We ordered vegetable biryani, aloo gobi, dal, naan, and paratha. None of it tasted better than our home-cooked versions, unfortunately. I did like the naan, but I'm not going back just for a $5 piece of bread. With tip, the meal cost $80. There was another entree we wanted to try another time, but I don't know we'll be back any time soon.
I wish the restaurant owner and staff well. I want them to succeed, but they'll need to step up their game if they want to compete with all the excellent restaurants in the neighborhood.
I was here with my coworkers for team lunch. I really enjoyed the buffet, everything I ate was so good!!!
I recommend if you have a taste for authentic fine Indian & Pakistani tandoori cuisine.
Good Service ✅
Courteous Staff✅
I ordered a dish that is vegetarian at every other restaurant I’ve ever ordered from, off of the veggie section of their menu, and and confirmed it didn’t list meat as an ingredient.
Food arrived and contained Chicken.
Delivery was handled by the restaurant directly, so I can’t even blame a third party service.
Would highly recommend that anyone with dietary restrictions or ingredient preferences never go here because what you order might not be what you get.
Garlic naan was covered in sesame seeds, and tasted sour. The Somosa was good, but not good enough to make up for everything else.
Not quite. The butter chicken is extremely dry and tough. Chicken taste old. Also- no one wanted to help me when I walked in. Three people that were working,
literally just stared at me as I stood at the counter, waiting to be greeted (at the very least). All they had to do was hand me the bag of food. I would have just left right then had I not ordered and paid online.
My husband and I have frequented this place for a good quick takeout option for the past 5 years but I won’t be returning. The food tastes good as usual, but 3 hours after my dinner I was fighting for my life expelling every single contents of my stomach on the toilet. The vomiting lasted for almost 4 hours until I literally had nothing in my stomach and all I can puke out was bile. I’ve had a lot of great experiences but one food poisoning is enough. I will not be coming back.
Edit: just had the most horrendous diarrhea too, just… do yourself a favor and don’t come here
