I requested cornrows. Specifically started I did not want the stitch pattern. Their was a miscommunication between the owner and the stylist as well as the stylist and another coworker.
The woman wound up doing stich braids. The braids were a bit crooked towards the ends so the woman went to redo them and it came out terrible.
Lead to them telling me I could pay or have it taken out. I had them take it out (I would have preferred to leave) that's when they cut my hair trying to cut the weave out which makes no sense.
I had to call the police just for them to take me seriously and get the owner on the phone to attempt to correct the situation.
Terrible experience.
They'll make anything look good social media. Their customer service is terrible and they have less qualified people their most days. You have to get lucky to get one of the "good" ones.
Horrible experience I will never go back. My daughters parts are bad the box braids are poorly done. The management was extremely rude

I have been going here for almost 25 years to get my hair braided. I will never ever go back to Aamavis Hair Braiding in this life time. I went in this pass Thursday (May 30,2024) to get two goddess briads. When I got there the young lady working the front dresk was telling me no one their could do them so I switch to corn rows because I have been working out and don’t want to sweat my hair out. They could not just give me a price. So I started to walk out and the owner says no I have someone to do it. I go and sit in the chair the lady started to braid my hair she was so nasty and rude. Wouldn’t smile speak or nothing. I asked her if she had a small mirror so I can see the braid to make sure she was doing it right because I was told no one there knew how to do them. She said no there go a mirror right here. I told her that was ok and to take the braid out. She was very rude. Why put your hands in my head and be mean to me. So I left and Aamavi called me and asked me what happened I told her and she asked me to come back and that she had someone to do me two cornrows for $40.00. So I came back she sit me with a female that just came America for 1 month and she did not speak English at all. So they told her what I wanted the young lady tried to do one braid 5 times . She called another lady over and took the braid out I said that’s ok because clearly they knew she could not do it. So Aamavis has here sister to stop doing someone’s else’s hair and come do me know 6 cornrow for $75.00. I had already spent 1 hour 1/2 getting tossed around and folks using me as a learning tools as if I went to a beauty college School. So the lady starts braiding my hair she was pulling my hair so tight and to top it she even parted my hair crooked. I paid $78.00 and picked up a pair of earrings and thought I paid for them. On my way to my car the young lady that worked the window chased me down and told me she forgot to ring them up so I gave them back.So the 3 extra dollars I was paid was for paying with card. After all I went threw and the bad service I got and have spent big money with this business over the years this how I was treated. I will also be disputing the charge as I had to take my hair down I gave them half of my day that I had off from work. I will be disputing this charge Monday Morning this buisness is not what use to be. Don’t waste your time this place is a dump…???? look at the parts pictures listed
Instead of braiding your hair properly, they will grab large sections and put 3-4 braids when it should be 10‼️ I had to go back several times. Not all, but some have terrible attitudes. It should never be a problem for a paying customer to get what they ask and pay for.

My 7yr grand daughter comes here to get her hair braided frequently and this particular time was different. The braiding STYLIST was rude when it came to the specific hair style I wanted which I made an appt. for. It was for 4 straightbacks. She tried to upsell me to get the knotless but I didn't want that and was not there for that. In the middle of doing my grand babies hair another woman came over and said the stylist was unable to do her hair because she was crying after she was already 1 braid in. She took the braid out and at this point I tried to compromise with her but she was still trying to upsell me with the knotless braids. My grand baby is tender headed this is true and this is also the reason why I chose this style. We finally came to the agreement of 2 braids. The end result was she still wanted for 2 braid, unprofessionalism and rudeness $25.00. I told her she can take this 10.00 and have a blessed day. This was the end result. Like I said I have been here several times before and have never had a problem with this shop and had no complaints. I usually go on a Sunday which a younger woman does her hair. In conclusion I would just like to say the service was unprofessional and unsatisfactory and being rude gets you a bad review.
Love it here! I refer my clients as well and they all had great things to say and referred their friends. What I like most is that you know exactly what the cost is before they begin and how they try to fit me in as well as how they strive to give the look I request from pictures. The atmosphere is safe and spiritually grounding music is a plus!
DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BULLIED AND HUSTLED!!
I have been coming here for years, the only place i get my hair braided , my most recent visit . I am EXTREMELY upset at the treatment and service i received as a long time customer,
the ladies were arguing with me about the price, i get same style everytime i visit. it has always been $200.
The PRICE CHANGE IS NOT THE ISSUE i stated, i just want the style and size of braids i always get ( i showed MULTIPLE REFERENCE PICTURES)
ultimately they did not do the correct style , and ALSO CHARGED ME MORE
